    About Me

Thanks for visiting my gallery thread on ConceptArt. I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself and give a brief summary of whom I am. My name is Evan Campbell and I am a free-lance sculptor living in California. My interest in art started at the age of eight, and this early fascination with creating eventually lead to the movie business. Over the last fifteen years, through different studios, I have been lucky to contribute to many films and TV shows. This particular thread will be dedicated solely to my work in the film industry and the early portfolio pieces leading up to this profession. My contributions in these creations, for the most part, rest mainly in the sculpture phase. Many of these works were painted by other artists. Some of the larger sculptures were created with other technicians and will be noted under the corresponding image. These photos were given in good faith by the studios and production companies for use in my portfolio. Once again, thank you for viewing my work...and now for the feature presentation.

These are prosthetic makeups I sculpted for Salma Hayek and Harvey Keitel for the Robert Rodriguez film "From Dusk Till Dawn."

TOP: Salma Hayek in full head makeup as the snake lady Santanico Pandemonium.
LEFT: Harvey Keitel in full face makeup as a demonic preacher.
RIGHT: A fake head puppet of demon Harvey for his melting demise.

Are you from Puerto Rico, and you sculpt? Contact me if you do! Looking for people to teach me more in sculpting.

Being a Freddy afficionado, i just have to say that i love the sculpt!
Do you have any formal training? A lot of concept designers in the industry seems to be self taught, and that gives a happy amateur like me hope

Thanks for the compliment...that really means a lot to read! I have had no formal training. Just tons of practice for many years. Almost all of the people that I have met, that I think are really talented were self taught. I still feel like an amateur! When I have to do a sculpture I never know if I will succeed or fail miserably.

    The Violator

Name: CG HUB # 5 .jpg

I was one of four artists who sculpted a twelve
foot version of the Violator for the comic book
movie Spawn. I also sculpted a smaller version
model that was used for CGI scanning and ended
up being what was mostly seen.

Whoa dude, you have worked on some cool movies! Violator and Spawn himself were the only characters in the movie that came close to the comic, in my opinion. MacFarlane should have directed himself...
The animatronic Violator is cool though, particulary in the alleyway scene.

I never tire of looking at your work, Evan. Not in the slightest. You jump effortlessly from surreal personal projects and professional assignments. And, as I've said before, you've had a hand in developing the look and feel of some of my cinema favorites. That can't go without a word of praise.

Keep the work coming. These visions are inspiring to all levels of skill and experience.

    ~KU

... a cry went up into the shuddering air, and faded to a shrill wailing, passing with the wind, a voice bodiless and thin that died, and was swallowed up, and was never heard again in that age of this world.
