    The Art of Shane

    Hi everybody!

I see so many nice pieces of work here... I have always felt a little intimidated to post my sketches... but here are some of my favourites anyway to start this tread.

I really like your style. Your characters are all so dynamic and expressive! I can't wait to see more.

Absolutely amazing start. I like your realistic and cartoony faces and bodies. Good job on keeping the proportions right. Amelie's nose bugs me somehow, it seems large.

Janos you are probably right about that nose... I spent the majority of my time on trying to get it right. I think it might be the highlights though that are throwing it off...

Anyway, thanks to all for the comments!

I wish there was... had that picture been larger, it would have won a contest to be my first published piece... I guess you will just have to use your imagination!

Here is a quick tonal under painting I did last night with Painter. I am determined to produce more finished stuff. Any advice anyone wants to give is appreciated... I am learning on fly here.
