as for the gestures i get what you mean fast clean lines paying attention to line weight, but ill try less cartoony look cause i liket the realismzies look.
Sounds good! I'm heading to the St Kilda festival after.. if it's still on. I don't know much about it to be honest.
BTW if anyone's interested Typo has some good sketchbooks on sale, $5- A4 with a cloth hardcover. Nice thin sort of paper, I always feel like scribbles/gesturals on cartridge is a waste.
Hey, fellow Melbournians.
I'd like to join the sketchgroup, is this the correct time and place still?
"This Sunday (and every Sunday from here on in), 11am, meet at the corner of Bourke and Elizabeth st on the steps right next to the large Marble Purse and tram stop.
EDIT: If it's raining we meet in Melb Central next to the "shot tower" under the clock."
jeez you guys left fast last week, couldnt find anyone Chinese new year was just too big, was it any good did you try the gestures challenge?, i got a bit done at the st kilda fest along with getting royally sun burnt , some drunk bogans were leaning over my sketchbook aswell, pretty crazy stuff.
we left the meeting point at 11.20. what time did you slackers get there?
we headed up to see the dragon ceremony. very cool. we had little kids pose for us with giant chinese weapons. did some gesturals, but nothing too strict. It is meant to be fun after all.
Sweet weather, live music and some new peeps joined us this weekend. We had 7 in total today with caricature artist Anthony doing some killer sketches of the band members from Husky.
Same menu next week with beanbags and live music at QV so get your butts into the city and get yo sketch on!

Today seemed like a good day for it, not too hot or bright (I wouldn't really know though, I went outside once for about 2 minutes). I've been busy working on job apps.. I've been here for almost a month now and I need some income so I can stop searching really focus on art stuff!
See you guys next Sunday
knox: I'm looking for second hand versions of the 1st series. xP
stormrider85: No, I don't have a burner. Please consider an external @ www.msy.com.au (My burner is old and a piece of poo, 4x, it takes ages to burn shit.)
They say the weather will be similar as yesterday. I want to be in the CT today (to check out Spencer/Southern Cross station and offer my two hands). Take pictures and
Is anyone else going, and what shoes are you wearing?

call me if you are late on 0408 409 909 to find us!
Pinback don't bother emailing Marty. He wasted my time with an art test and is just using people for free artwork.
Sorry for telling it like it is Marty. Seems you are getting a very bad name for yourself around Melbourne for using/abusing young impressionable artists.
I don't usually reply to dickheads, but here goes.
1. I asked you to do an art test
2. You delivered a ridiculous lazy concept that looks like it was drawn by a 12 year old
3. The concept was low res (so i could not look at your technique) and it had your named plastered over it (covering up your technique)
4. I asked you for a high res version, without your name on it
5. You replied and started "interviewing me" (how much money can i get? Where is your studio? I will hold the high res version to ransom, until you agree to meet me in person)
6. Disgusted by your lame attitude, I deleted your concept, informed you its impossible to move forward wished you the best in your career development.
Dude, you are just upset because you got rejected. You're not gods gift to art, you're just a knob.
And sending lame emails trying to discredit me, just makes "you" look like a dweeb, not me.
13 years of industry experience, including level design on the BAFTA award winning, multimillion selling "Max Payne" (what have you done?)

Official Microsoft Approved Developer
Company entity established (ACN)
And (I will go slow and use big words, ready?) we are a *gasp* "start up" company.
Which means we are *gasp* "new" and getting set up, which means.. (ready?) that we are yet.to.move.into.an.office.space.
Out team is expanding, and guess what Carl? We are extremely fussy, which means we don't hire dweebs. Keep dicking around on the steps of Flinders St, while me and my team create our game.
I appreciate that you are a start up company, I wished more people out there were offering a hand out to the games community like you are, lord know all the animators and concept artists at the moment need it.
But from what I've been told you are gathering all the uni students and inexperienced artists out there and using them for content without giving them the slightest bit of gratitude.
Talk down about my art all you like, I don't care, my work speaks for itself. At the end of the day I respect people who show me respect in return, and warn them about people who feed of other's hard work for their own gain. This website is full of independent artists like myself who grow sick of being abused exploited.
