nice open pieces; they get a illustrational feel to them b/c of that. last is nice and also good for 3d shapes. whatch your angle of view; I think we should see 2 buttocks from here. then again, the horse is facing our way a little. but the girl is definitively riding away from us..

I'm liking your new sketchbook Leo, there is definitely improvement with your strokes - you still have the sketchy feel but its developing nicely. I don't know why, but your last sketch with the horse I really like - it looks like it was done almost traditionally.

The squirrel stuff is awesome, the solid colour really suits the character.

I shall be back once more to crit you as you update - so update! =)

Hey Leo, nice work in here of late. I particularly enjoy the values in the red guy in post #34. The squirrel studies are really nice; they have a very clean feel that's very presentable compared to your usual sketches. The combination of lines and values are working very nicely (especially in squirrel-owlship). The horse-jump one is nice too, but perhaps her body should be closer to the horse so she can grip its sides with her knees since she appears to be riding bareback. Keep up the good work! ^^

ashess - Thanks! They were indeed intended more as illos than frames. About the horse and rider, I tried to draw pure profile but my eyes must be hazy. So I'll draw two buttocks (yeah! LOL)
Volchiha - Welcome back finally! Thanks for the kind words. My painting technique still has a long hard way to go, but now I draw black lines - or trying to.
dierat - Thanks! I think I really should go back to my initial habits - line drawing - then expand on color on top of that if I can. About the rider, I wanted her somewhat acrobatic, not really realistic. Prolly too much tho

So, more studies for the Spring Time Storm project - yes, the one with Squirrel and Harlequin (they will meet - or rather clash - at some point of the story):

Bad ass LK. You are planning out a beast of a project it looks like. I like the movement in the one where the lady is riding the horse bareback. As always you have some great color work. Looking forward to seeing more. Thanks for all the help in my thread lately.

Great story detail! You seem to be really involved in the work you've been doing. I like your mooncrab concept, and I am looking forward to seeing how this all comes together in the end. Good luck!

ashess - I guess Harlequin's crab would go in the hangar, but that base is human so it wouldn't be welcome there
wheezy - Yes, such a beast that I lost faith to continue the project... not quite gave up though, I'll wake up some day
Volchiha - There is so much scrambling in my head that I'm not putting anything together yet; but wait and see!
Ricardo - No hubiera pensado que me hecharia de menos alguien. Voy a intentar rearrancar la maquineria
wilkerson - Here it is finally!

So, I'm struggling out of a black hole of "what for" doubts. Here is a little WIP:
