AliceA Thank you very much, and i hope i will : )

ArtZealot Thanks! Yes creatures and characters are my favourite topic, but i've started to learn perspective recently, so maybe you'll see more enviros in the future, eh? : )

    Danny_K Friends for life ~ <hug>

krel Thank you mate, i wish you all the best either.

    Sweron Will do !

Ok guys, i know that i've been absent for quite awhile, but things can get a little hectic here. There's alot of work and little free time, and when i have it i'm so tired that i spend it on rest. THe good side is that we've got lifedrawing classes where we first drew ourselves and in the future there will be models.

So here's a bunch of sketches from the class, all of them are quick sketches, as we were told to lay focus on those. The poses vary from 40 sec to 3-4 minutes. ( I'm soooooo slow, due to drawing mostly from static photos in the past, but that's abiut to change ! )

I've also managed to kick in some super quick digital sketches and one 3D model for my 3D basics class assignment, a hammer......warhammer!

There's alsoe q rough concept of my future animation character, everything can change tho.

See you soon ( iHope )

P.S An old, yet still awesome tune

    Hey Icy!
I like the thumbs and that samurai stuff, the second one's got a cool dark ambience. Go forward The perspective thing is good. That's a point I have to start, too.

Thanks for the comments in my SB. Hope to see more of your work soon

    Greetings,
    Flo

good lines on those sketches, you will get so much better in time while doing people from life, it's a whole different thing drawing from a book and real life.
I'm myself am busy too lately the company I work for sends me away from home all the time and I don't see my family entire week and don't have access to my wacom tablet which sucks nonetheless, I gotta get better with my art and start working in the field and be home everyday... so I am kinda know what your going through at the moment, seems like your having fun though!
    Keep in touch update often.

    I'm glad you're still alive
I'm alive too, and it seems we're having the same trouble with temperatures here 36-37 is the regular. Though last year a maximum of 30 would have been.. but by night it gets really cold! in the morning too

anyway, back to art, i still think you should have continued working on that perspective study. it was really nice

figures and everything are looking good. perhaps more old fashion figures?
and how is your maya work going along?

    cheers!

BlackDelphin Uhm Maya, i still think it's good to learn it, but i don't wan't to be working with it the rest of my life. Atleast it's another thing i've learned i don't want to do. But still knowing the industry pipeline etc is extremely useful.
Still we have alot of useful info regarding animation etc, and life drawing yes, lifedrawing, so there's more pros than cons for me.

Here's a photostudy i did today ( or tonight ) I felt like i needed to finally learn on how to use the colors the more painterly way, not just photo brain wash, eyeball copy them.

P.S I think 3d is somewhat cool, but i don't want to "waste" my life on it, i'll try to find more time for painting/drawing which is my true love.

Dang you've improved so much in a short amount of time. Your sense of lighting is great. Just keep drawing man.

What a beautiful colour scheme you have on your last drawing!
It dose have a more painterly feel to it, great job!
I tried 3d a couple of times too, but i never found the patience to properly finish a more complex subject..never was my thing, to calculate4d somehow, compared to the beautiful unexpected strokes of painting

I had some sketches, but i've lost my sketchbook, so until i find it ( if i find it ) there can be a break in pencil work. I might just get a new one, but i really liked my old one :/

The sketchbook is such a precious little thing we artists have. I think it's the one notebook so to say in in witch i put so much passion, learning, memories and effort. It's one of those i wouldn't want to lose or ruin. I do hope you'll find it. Try in the most obvious places, usually it's right under your nose or you "dropped" it from your hand without realising, so you have a vague memory of where you last had it

"I felt like i needed to finally learn on how to use the colors the more painterly way, not just photo brain wash, eyeball copy them"

Absolutely. The painter doesn't copy what he sees, he takes inspiration from it. Ultimately you are choosing and designing,
using a limited number or colors and values on your 'canvas' whereas in nature there may be an infinite range of colors and
values. Truthfully you want to create and arrange a combination of colors and values that focuses the viewer's attention
and emotion in the way you want.

The same is true of how you handle edges, or how you break down the form into planes and simple shapes. If you try to
perfectly capture the 'right' breakdown, you'll most likely get lost, instead, you want to choose as well as observe.

This is way some teachers also say that, in art or design 'restrictions create freedom'. If you have infinite choices and possibilities
it become almost impossible to make decisions. Instead, by limiting your palette setting a subject just so, you can experiment with
how to achieve your goals in new ways by subtle exploitation of the relationships. Sometime try just working in shades of gray with
tints or shades of a single warm or cool color...it really makes you think!

Or something like that Never mind my blather...keep updating...more more more!

sketchbook...a kitten dies every time you don't comment

“When forced to work within a strict framework,
the imagination is taxed to its utmost – and will
produce its richest ideas. Given total freedom,
the work is likely to sprawl.”

    - TS Eliot

    Hello everybody.

Thank you for not forgetting about me. I wish i could update, but i've just recently came back from the hospital. I had a surgery on my nose and all the stuff inside of it.
Unfortunately i caught some bacteria and i'm feeling really bad, staying all day long in bed with high temperature and headaches. My throat's all messed up and even swallowing anything feels like eating abox of razorblades.
That means no drawing for now, but as soon as i'll get better i'll try to update.

P.S Bluud, Girl, you and your thoughts are always welcome here :]
