    Arrow My Damn Sketchbook

Hey all, this is my first thread here. I am from Seattle. I finally got a working scanner so now I will post my stuff here. Hopefully some of you will find the time to give me some tips.

I think your shading and linework is pretty good on these sketches. Just a few issues with anatomy and other proportions. Not much advice other than KEEP AT IT!

Well It looks to me like there's been some really good improvement in these most recent posts. You seem to be constructing the figure, as 3D forms with volume, more now than in the early posts where it looked like you were just outlining the flat shapes that you saw.
The Hogarth studies seem to be helping.
One piece of advice I'll put in is try to slow down. Most of your stuff looks like you are racing to get it done so you can move on. Try to use your line to indicate volume and mass -thicker/heavier - thinner/lighter as create contours.
Really good progress so far though. Keep it up.

Thanks for your advice. I tried to spend more time on this one. For anyone viewing, Do you think my drawings look flat maybe because I use blue pencil before going over with black lines? Should I stop doing that? or is it just that my line width is always the same. also, sorry to keep bumping my thread. (only once a day I promise!).

One of my main goals is to just be able to draw a person standing still without having to use reference. Seems simple enough but it's been very hard so far.

Here's my try for today (I gave up when I got to the feet) sigh, I'll do more stuff tomorrow. Exhausted now.

I can see youre really devoting yourself to make better drawings.
To draw from youre mind is a progress, so keep on drawing and try to do something with more lighting.
