    Hi there!

Some suggestions for you...careful not to shrink the lower half of the body in sitting poses, I think you tend to squash the hip area.

Also, when using charcoal and pastel, try to be a bit cleaner in your application, and more confident in your strokes. Charcoal is dangerous with pastel too, it tends to make a drawing look dirty and muddy. Better to use a grey or dark brown that will blend with color

Kiwigarbage: Thanks for the crits. Proportions, proportions, proportions, check. Good point about the use of the media too. I think my confidence has grown over the past few months but its always something to keep in mind by using broader more intentional strokes. I've never used charcoal and pastel together and your right about the muddiness, I had the same thought too after experimenting with them and won't be mixing the media again.

Go updates go! Getting ready for the next TAD semester to start up. Had an amazing time in Austin for the three week workshop. Demos and presentations by Brent Watkinson, John English, Ron and Venessa Lemen, Jon Foster, John Meuller, Brett Breiley, Anita Kunz and many more! Almost too much knowledge to soak up. Here is some more game art and a pastel drawing

Some sketches I did today to apply for an adult comic gig. They are looking for something similar to JAB's style. Fingers crossed to get paid for drawing sexy girls

Sid thanks for stopping by. I appreciate the comments.

Ivan: Thank you I'll have some more inks coming soon

Hey CA, here is some stuff I have been working on. Three composition studies, about 15 min each. Jeremy Lipking, Gerome and Waterhouse. A Dean Cornwell master copy. Working on how to emulate brush stroke and describing the form with brush direction in digital. Some more game art then a personal character design that I'm working on.

Just spent close to 80 hours this week try to crank out a comic book for a freelance job. Here is a sample of the first page. I'm stoked about my first panel but overall I think I could have done a better job on the entire comic. I was pressed to meet a deadline unfortunately and jumped on late because the original artist bailed on the writer.

Nice composition studies man. Do you have any tips for how to start doing those or what your mindset is when doing them?

skMOP: Thanks for stopping by to check out my work. My process for starting comp studies is to first just lay down shapes like a child would. Then I start to search the abstract design for anything I can relate to. This happens once to several times in each image until I see a complete picture then I start to work into it.

It helps to do 5 - 15 min composition studies of master artists to rehearse their good choices.

Here is some more concept art for FI. "Fire Tier 3" . It feels good to get back to game art.

Here are a bunch of skeleton studies for class. An assignment called reverse engineering where you take an original piece (this one by Justin Sweet) blur it then sketch something new from what you see. Last is a Frazetta composition study.
