If you erase too much with it, it does'nt matter what eraser, the yellow-ish tone will fade.. even with a kneaded eraser.. Maybe just try drawing lightly at first for it does'nt need as much abuse to clear the pencil markings.

So, what is the yellowish layer for? I guess it improves the quality of the paper somehow, but I wonder exactly what it changes.

I think it's just easier on your eyes if you have to sketch in full sunlight. The Moleskine paper was bad enough -- I don't really want to try it with white paper.

    Are moleskines even worth getting?

I hear a lot about them but they seem to be a fad almost

Opinions? I do need a new sketchbook...

I like it when my moleskine yellow fades. Makes for a good highlight!

Moleskeins are awesome. Its pretty much all I use. Pencils just flow on them.

As for eraser, I love the white, pentel click-erasers. They don't eat the paper and they erase really well and they're cheap. I use mechanical pencils .3 and .5 lead so that may help b/c I don't press too hard.
