hopefully i'll get this one finished, seems like a pretty long time since i actually got to complete a chow, lol.

Anyway, going to try and keep this pretty simple, keeping it very much towards childrens illustration, worked out a basic concept, going to work out the smaller details later, as for background, im realy not sure yet. have to be honest, ive been slightly influenced this week by one of the images in this months 2dartmag.

posh: as usual, some nice sketching there

trevor: love the dark approach, hope to see a finished piece there

jessibean, bluefooted: c'mon, your slacking, i thought this would be very well suited for your styles

I'm goin' Victorian on yo asses.... LOL!

Yeah, I just can't do traditional Fairies... I lose all motivation. So I'm gonna Steam it up a little.

I was reading somewhere that the fight between Titania and Oberon was over a little "Indian Changeling". Whatever the heck that means... he'll be included. And he won't be lookin' like a Newsie as the sketch here suggests. *WOOT!*

Never was big in Midsummer myself, but this should be a fun one regardless.

Worked out a rough. Staying on the fantasy side of things, but making the fairies more of a insect-human hybrid. Decided on a stag beetle. Not sure if im all about the insect legs quite yet, but ill toy with that later

Yet another fun round. I'm liking some of the alternative interpretations.

Nothing so interesting from my coffee break doodle. Playing it pretty straight, but trying to get some subtle otherworldliness into the design and mood.

I was thinking of John Harrold's Rupert annual endpaper illustration, 'Nutwood Night Class', while I scribbled this up. Might go down that road for palette if I can find the time to take this any further.

Matt Dixon OMG! I love it, it reminds me of froud, which makes me all happy inside xD

This is my wip, it is referenced off a sculpture of wingedthing. She gave me permission to use the pose a while ago, and I am glad I finally get to use it.
I probably won't mess with it today anymore..cuz my mom just pissed me off.

I have to stretch the legs, too short.. and the purple highlight is stupid. The highlight matter a fact looks stupid in general LOL. And the right foot is to straight.
What can I say, still a mess... but I have the image in my head LOL.

Wow,So so many cool ideas here...

I just realised, i only made about six finished digital paintings,
and four of them have been CHOWs, this is addictive!

Anyway heres a wip of mine,
I wanted the dress to look like it has a life of it's own and kinda grows around her, the pose is a bit boring...
the idea was that she is standing in a partly cut down forest with a look of supressed anger on here face and a smoking human skull in her hand...

I decided to go the illustrative and classic way. No Oberon but Puck Is it allowed to draw such a scene for a CHOW?

What do you think about the composition? Is the scene clear? Colors are still preally rough but do they fit?

Thank a lot for the comment, trevor. I already searched for some references (for the pose, the face and the fox, also some flowers, wings and stumps). I hope, I can keep up with the detais also in the final piece. But there's still a lot of time, isn't it XD

Great suff here *__*/// It's so much fun to participate.
