    photography

whats up peoples. anybody into photography here? i got a digital camera about 4 months ago, and its had a huge impact on me. Im constantly shooting stuff around me and my drawings have improved alot since i got it. Its really helping me to design within the picture plane as i see, and also its helping me to understand dimension in space.

if you got some photos you wanna share feel free to post em in here, id love to see em--

I REALLY LIKE THE SUBWAY PIC!!!! Very cool!

To be nobody-but-yourself -- in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else -- means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting.

I like the picture of the el. The picture of the skyline with all of the buildings is awesome and you pieced it together very well.

Anyone have any suggestions on a good camera to get Digital or Traditional?

    Photography? Yeah, I'm into that.
I would consider myself an pro/hobbiest.
It's not my full-time job, but I do do professional work to help me buy things like new tablets and cpus and groceries.

I keep a daily photo weblog @ www.philholland.com and I have my pro site @ phfx.com, which is not fully up and running.

    Here's some recent craziness....

You might find some good pics in my Huntington gallery on phfx.com

    Tyboogie,
    I really like 2 & 6.
I'll have to put up more of my architectural stuff. But, I don't have anything like that stuff!

    Post more,

    Phil

    Thanks Tegehel!

That golden mask is an imported masquarade mask from Italy. I grabbed it from a collector for Halloween this year. Unfortunately it rained, so I was unable to wear that long.
I have pic of the whole costume at home I'll post later.

The photo itself was achieved by placing a flash unit inside the mask, one outside of the mask. Then brought into photoshop for an enhanced effect on the eyes and some saturation adjustment. I then composited a background of some smoke from the recent fires in Chatsworth, CA.

    Thanks!

    Phil

`What sort of people live about here?' asked Alice.

`In that direction,' the Cat said, waving its right paw round, `lives a Hatter: and in that direction,' waving the other paw, `lives a March Hare. Visit either you like: they're both mad.'

`But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.

`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here...

    Very cool photos all round.

It's really cool to see that everyone here has such diverse tastes in art.

Tyboogie - Your first three photos are really nice. Did you use a tripod or was it pure hand shooting?

Carniflex - Nice lanscape shots. Love the last one. It is just a pity that scanning in photos pics up so much noise Can't complain about the second lot of pics

Phil - Awesome use of Depth of Field. The card shot is really cool. You took something very simple and made it a lot nicer.

Mykro - I have always loved time lapse, and yours are quite well done. The first and last pics are my favs.

I may have to go out today and start taking some more photos to test out my new digi cam. Later

Hey, thanks all for the nice comments. Toaster, what do you shoot with? It's X-mas time, and I think I need to start lookin'. Phil is that digital stuff or traditional? I think cost is the big thing that keeps me away from photography at this point, but I may see a digi rebirth soon.

    Hey Mykro,

These are all digital of course. I've shot with film for a while, then eventually moved to a digital point and shoot. Now I am fully loaded with a digital slr.

Be careful if you go this route. It gets expensive real fast.

    Here's more:

    Thanks!
