Rebecca Kimmel's Sketchbook 3.0
Wow, it's been a long time since I've posted much work here...looking back on the older stuff, I have to say a lot of it is pretty embarrassing, ah well.
Some more recent digital paintings / with photo texture overlays, and a couple of recent drawings.

Hey, I've seen your stuff on CGtalk. I really dig the mix of traditional life drawing with the texture overlays. I've been doing something like that a bit myself, recently.
If you don't mind some criticism I'd say the mirroring in the first image is a bit too obvious. I'd suggest breaking up the symmetry. If not in the figure at least in the incidental patterns that form in the texture in the background.
Despite my critique I'd just like to say that I dig what you do.

Ahhh...Yesterday I spent an eternity trying to find your older sketchbooks since I'd lost my bookmarks. I should have waited just one more day I'm subscribing to this one right now so I can save myself some time!

Eon, thanks! For the record, a nice way to search any forum is to use Google, for example, type:
site:conceptart.org + "search term"
This will work with any forum, and is a great search tool (since most forums have poor search functionality).
Thanks Iridyse, I would LOVE to have your participation!!!

I just wanted to comment so I could get updates from your new sketchbook! I always enjoy watching whatever things you start getting your hands into. I really love the subtle abstract works you've been developing near the start of the thread. I'll be curious to see where you continue to take them. Thanks for all the inspiration and knowledge you share with this community!

paperX, heh, thanks!
Well I'm working on my own "Self Portrait As A Creature" for the Workshop. Nothing special, just a little WIP - I'm turning myself into "Barf" from Spaceballs:

Decided to go in a different direction for the Workshop, and did some traditional oil painting for a change, which felt great.

Asatira, haha, thanks! I think!
Gloominati, thanks! Appreciate the feedback, it helps to see what hits and misses.
Creatinity, thank you!
Here's the color version of the previous post, still not the best photo but oh well:
Close up of probably the better part of the painting:
I'm thinking of going in a different direction, "SP with Parasitic Human" - this started out as an oil painting and ended up tweaked a bunch in PS:
Your thoughts are appreciated.

Hello miss Kimmel! I already knew you work from CGtalk, and I must say you helped me a lot with your workshops. I improved my head drawings from the 30 drawings in a week, if i recall. But I still have a LOT to improve, and I'll sure keep an eye in your sketchbook.
Your Art is stunning as always. Thanks for sharing your knowlege!
