Welll, I've been MIA for a while now, and not really that productive during that time span. Buut, I didn't do nothing. Here's some of the bad art (and a little bit of not so bad art) for your viewing displeasure.

Hey Nick nice updates. I enjoyed looking at them and I especially like the concept one 2nd up from the bottom. I don't know if you are going to work on it anymore but it has an epic feel to it.

Really enjoying the latest updates, especially that skeleton warrior. Try doing the 100 things challenge (where you do 100 drawings of a certain thing such as figures within a week) I think you would benefit from doing challenges like that, but keep up the good work!

Marian Rowling: Thanks! As a matter of fact, I am going to work on it more. I'm going to finish this one... hopefully.
jeremygordon89: Yeah I decided that actual anatomy studies where you learn stuff is actually pretty boring. So I came up with this idea to do illustrations of skeleton warriors instead so that my studies don't suck so much and give me anxiety and stuff. The 100 things challenge sounds pretty cool. I don't know if I could do 100 skeleton warriors in a week though with my limited schedule. With my current effort I should start with 100 amoebas... j/k

Hey, I just wanted to say thanks for checking out my SB. I love your sketches, and your rendering is top-notch. On the first page, were you using charcoal, or just pencil. They look great. Well, take care.

Thanks for commenting on my sketchbook. I really like post #163. I think that came out great. I really like your drawings but I think color is still something you should work on. I notice that your colors come off a little muddy. (I have the same problem at times too)

Masayasu: Hi, Thanks! I think all of the greyscale drawings on the first page were done in charcoal.
    Nistarn: Thanks, man!
Istmin52: You're welcome and thanks! I just got though some readings on color and my mind is now blown. I'm definitely needing to do tons of experiments there to figure it all out. Brigg's Dimensions of Color basically turned my world upside down, so hopefully I'll be able to improve my color abilities in the coming paintings.
karmiclychee: Thanks! I'm doing the best I can to keep up. Life is unrelenting.
dleoblack: Thanks a TON, man! That means a lot coming from someone at your level. I'll do my best to impress you.
lancer_idenoure: Thanks a lot! Hopefully I'll get some finished stuff for you to check out soon..... ish.

Damn Nick, you're really pushing here. I really like the way you study the figure and thinks it's wise for you to learn the body like that. 2-dimensional sculpting!

I think your painting is showing promise and this is something you look like you're having fun with. I hope you are and I hope you keep it up.

Quigleyer: Yeah I'm really trying to take all of the extra steps to get the outcome to be as imitation pro as possible. This one is going to take forever, but after this is should go faster and faster (but still slow, hehe).

Thanks for the encouragement man, I'm having fun and looking forward to the next steps.

Ok what we have here are some sketches and then the games I made for my son's first birthday party. It was a huge carnival themed ordeal with a moon bounce, ball pit, dj, facepainter, hot dog venders, door prizes and a slew of games. It was a great time, but we're probably not going to put another one on like it again soon. Now that's it's over I'm going to really try to focus in and lock on to art production. Get myself where I want to be.

I did a whole bunch of little acrylic color studies for this project. I usually ignore color until the very end of a project and then I just sort of do it without planning. I'm trying to remedy that by putting a lot of work into it very early in the process. I still don't know which direction I'm going to go in though.

    Thanks for looking!

Hey Nick those games you've made for your son look great and like a lot of fun. The 'tree pople' studies are also really interesting as it gives such a different feel. I don't know about you but I could decide which one I like best. I'll be interested to see which way you go with it.

Marian Rowling: Thank you very much for the encouraging words! This is actually an exaggerated preliminary study. Sadly, this thing is taking up a huge amount of expensive sculpey and I won't be able to use it for anything after this project. It'll have to be disassembled and returned to a wad of clay...

But that just means I can make something else!

Ok here's the finished maquette. The battery in my camera died so this is all I could get. I gotta wait until it recharges to shoot some more pics.
