I am working on a little piece and i am trying to colour his armour but i can't find the right method.
can anyone recommend a tutorial or give any advice on how to get a good SHINEY armour effect.
First of all, unless you're going to add a background, I would crop off most of the right side of the pic because there is absolutely nothing there.
Also, in terms of anatomy, the shoulders are sticking out from the torso a little too much. They look more like they were just stuck there, not completely attached as they should look. The normal width is two head lengths (of course, armor tends to widen the look of the shoulder width by a bit). Although, the mistake probably wouldn't be noticeable at a glance.
Now, I know a coloring tutorial that might give you an idea about how to make your armor look shiny, but it's in DA. You use Photoshop, right?
Other than that, I like the look on his face as well as the details on his armor.
thanks for taking the time out to help me. I will try and shorten the width of his shoulders.
I will post a revised version tonight. hope your around to check it out.
