The Endless SketchBook
Hello everyone, It's been a while since I have posted anything. That's why I waited halfway through the month before I post my project, to see if I will actually keep up with it. Well so far I have been working my plan, which is for the first 2 months I will sketch at least 1 page everyday of just random first thing that pops in my mind stuff. Just to get me to start drawing something at least, no matter how crappy it looks. I have been using pens, pencils, ink quiles, if its there I will use it. In the meantime I will be posting and working on my studies regularly, so please feel free to drop by and see if I can actually improve.
So here are some scribbles from the last three weeks.

Just adding more
Here is another weeks worth, as you can see I will need to continue to study my anatomy and perspective. I am trying to work without references at this time because I have been relying on them my whole life, now I am trying to stray away from them a bit. The biggest issue with it is remembering where the details go and applying them correctly. But practice makes perfect(Hopefully).

More Random Stuff. I will be going to the library soon and would like to know any recommended Authors I should look for, to study my anatomy if anyone knows of any.
This is some silly crazy panda project I have been working on for a friend.

Slow Day at Work
Not much to do at work today, so I tried doing a digital painting of the owners dog. She is kind of the company mascot bouncing around all day, sometimes kind of a pain in the ass.

Since I am still board, I started working on a speed painting concept. Next I think I should really start working those figures out, something tells me it might make things look a little prettier.
Hey let me know if the image sizes look good enough, I dont want them big, but I do want you to see them.

I must be addicted to uploading images or something. This one I was working during lunch, and I am planning on coloring it tonight. Will post update.

Started working on the inking and paint in photoshop. I was finally able to pick up a wacom, it might take a little bit to get used to but I can tell I'm going to enjoy this thing.

Here is the Portrait pic resized. What is a good size to save these images? Because what looks right on my screen probably doesn't look right on others.

Waiting to go home
Aching to go home and practice. here are a couple thing I have been working on this afternoon. It must look pretty bad, getting more done at work then when I get home. Oh and every now and again I do actually work, I am just so used to this type work I am able to finish whatever they need quickly.
First Image is a logo concept I am trying to put together for myself(with the dream that I will freelance eventually) I know what your thing I should really learn art before I think about trying to sell it.
The second image is from a photo of Johnny Cash I am trying to digitally paint.

Some Illustrator Work
I started getting into Illustrator a couple months ago, and its amazing what you can make with a couple thousand shapes. Each of my illustrations are from reference but they are not live traced in illustrator, that would be cheating not learning. Let me know what you think.

Here are a few more Illustrations.
January 28th, 2009 #25
Been working on a bike in Illustrator, Still have a few things to add.

I like illustrator, once you get a concept of the pen tool the possibilities are truly endless.
Here are a couple unfinished pieces, what I have been doing is making a rough sketch of the image scanning it in, then apply color.

Was is this some kind of addiction
Hey just wanted to post yet some more Illustrator Images, the first is a CD remake cover and the other is just random non-sense while waiting for the day to end. I have some anatomy studies to finish up, posting later tonight.
January 28th, 2009 #28
Here's some anatomy work, now it time for some painting. I wish had incorporated this plan to study a lot harder through my life, instead of the off and on game. Well nap time is over.
January 28th, 2009 #29
This first one is just a mess, I will keep working on the proper proportions. Second one went from a speed painting to a desire to see if painting each window could make me crazy, will update progress.

I see that there aren't much people commenting this SB which is not good! God damn it we are here to encourage peoples, aren't we? Not writing stupid mediocre comments... I want to mention that your works on illustrator are just killing ( I just don't know why they are so small) the light of the metal fits perfectly on the whole picture! Love the chopper and the fighter!
Man if you are really up to doing some serious stuff like ( I WANNA WORK IN MB when I GROW) You got to get anatomy book immediately and start drawing... first draw from reference man retain the human proportions and muscle anatomy... which is crucial for every fantasy artist. That is for the body but for the machines (cars, airplanes, etc.) they are cool really! You gotta develop boy... there is no god damn time! HURRYY M***** F******
