Sweet work here Midknight. Thanks for stopping by my SB. Your designs are awesome. But as Jatherip said, your colors are a little dull. His link to the hue, chroma page is a great read. Here's a link to a Gnoman tutorial video called Practical Light and Color. It is a little expensive, but I'm sure there are other ways to get it. Hope it helps.

I pretty much agree with whats been said, your perspective and pencils are great, but you need to work on color a bit more. Id also recommend that Gnoman dvd. keep it up.

Hi there, proportions and movement are quite good on that last one. If she is supposed to get a background you should definitely paint it in, even if its just simple shapes and values. Also, she is kinda flat at the moment. No real darks and no real lights. Try pushing the values really strongly!

    Cheers

Thanks, man. I've been doing a basic flat-ish grayscale and adding the high lights and shadows in the color stage. It just seems to work best for me that way. The colors don't come out looking as dull.
Did 2 versions, don't know which to go with.

Nice feet. How do you study those? Fotos? Real life?
I still think that the running girl needs work. The colours look funny. The skin is very dull and grey. The saturated colours do not interact and influence their surroundings and do not have enough variation. Also, the background doesn't really fit the character, but I guess that was intentional. Values arent very convincing as well. If you want I could try making a fast paintover, though keep in mind, I am in my early stage sas well, so you shouldn't take everything I say for granted.

    Cheers

I use both photos and my own feet as reference for the studies.
Yeah, color really isn't my strongest area. I would appreciate a paintover.
    Thanks.

The rendering on the last few is very good, but I am afraid the scanner has kind of taken away from the real effect. Try pimping your images a little in photoshop to get them as nice as possible.
I also tend to feel a stiffness from most of your characters, you should try some of Bridgemans studies, he manages to make a figure move with lines.

    Cheers

I really like your detailed pencil drawings like the one in your opening post. Do you use reference or are they all from your imagination. Either way they are really good powerful drawings and I hope I can draw something that good one day.

Your old stuff looks pretty cool, It's begging for some dynamic colouring. Unfortunately that is an area which you will need to work on.

That last colour piece of the running female suffers from lack of tonal variety, everything has a similar tone. Don't worry about the actual colours for the moment and concentrate on getting the values right in your grayscale sketch.

    cheers.

I like your works, very conceptual and you have a lot of great ideas. The comic book pieces were very well done. oh and the first elf girl with googles on her head, the roughly done one was my favorite.

Whoa these comic pages are really impressive. Is it a story you wrote yourself? All the pages and poses look so dynamic and the pencil rendering looks great. Really like the flow of the layout as well.
