    Thank you for your note - I appreciate your opinion - the blue background was what I wanted there and her hand, I don't know if I can "flatten" it out too much when it's not finished !! hah! these are just tiny paintings in my 5 x 7" moleskine sketch tablet in acrylic..

    @BenjaminJL92 - I work in a pretty full palette though I do try to keep the palette/gamut as organized as possible ( avoiding hue shifts that take you out of the gamut)..

    @enkithrice - thank you!

    @Elias Leonard - thank you!

    @Marian R - Hiya Marian! Long time ( the semester kind-of interrupted my life!).. I might be able to do that.. I'm trying to figure out what/when to do some youtube vids - so if that's your vote I will try!

    @Yemi - thank you so much !

    @Mightcrawler - cheers to you as well!

    That's sounds great Kevin that you are willing. I am a patient person so I don't mind waiting, as I think it is more likely to happen quicker than me ever making it to America! Did I tell you by the way that when I met Henry Yan he told me how impressed he was by the standard that you have achieved in painting and drawing in only 4 years. I totally agree with him, of course, so I know you have much to give. I'd settle for just a sped up video of you painting or drawing......would be very cool.

    Hey Kevin, always great to see you updating here, I hope all goes well with the teaching an that you are learning as much from your students as you are teaching them. These portraits look lovely and your skills just keep getting better. You are still my favourite and I am still working hard trying to get to this level of skill.

    Wow... you exemplify everything I want to accomplish through figure study and life drawing. I'm nowhere near this level yet, but I will continue to work at it. Take a look at my sketchbook sometime! Any feedback you could give me would be very helpful!

    Your figure studies... it's like you are taking a picture with your eyes and your pencil is a printer... jeebus. Your observation skill is so tight. Very very very inspiring...

    Beautiful stuff as always Kevin! I am a big fan, and have had an eye on you for a long time even if I haven't really commented. I absolutely LOVE your economy in many of these drawings--you have an uncanny ability to get a perfect gesture of a pose with only a couple c curves...the legs on this one are extraordinary in their design and confidence, their simplicity and economy: http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...3&d=1376442588

    A long time ago I remember doing some copies of your work to try to steal what knowledge I could...I think it is time I do a few more studies to pick some stuff up! I also have to say I am a huge fan of your edgework, there are some lovely lost edges you have going on.

    You have confidently established yourself as a master draftsman, I think the next step is to up your painting skills. Don't get me wrong, I think you are good at painting, but to my eye they are much weaker when sitting next to those drawings of yours. I would be thrilled to see you paint more and really explore how far you can push in oils.

    Anyways, not much else for me to add really, just keep up with your posts here Have fun drawing!

    Stunning work Kevin! You're really nailing it at each stage, from the gestures reading with only the minimum lines (and what lines! only described where necessary but also at the right weight too) to the developed renders. You really have some truly beautiful stuff in this sketchbook. Looking forward to seeing more.

    EDIT: Woah... I hadn't seen that update sneak in! Great paintings!
