some new things - ballpoint and a bit of conte and charcoal..

trying this again.. images were HUGE first time 'round! ugh. working on getting more structure and sweep in my figures - not there yet.. ballpoint - practice with the 49 cent pentel fine pen (my fave though it gunks like a moFo!).. some conte life studies form school last semester .. your comments - good/bad/whatnot welcome and much appreciated!

a few new quick figures from life

all 5-10 minutes.. working on feet and hands more.. next is getting into key form shapes at a more distinct level.. last one is heightened a bit w/white.. and that's 20 mins w/work when i got home.. any thoughts always welcome!

Dear lord, your sense of detail is spot on. I'm struggling in vain to see any glaring issues in these life drawings. They're so natural and fluid! I also adore how you build up your tones.

My only critique is more. >I

Red face some new quick pose figures from the last three days..

really working on getting the essential information down in shorter poses.. and developing a more sweeping line ( than, say, a more "studied" direct-draw line - like I tend to do.. trying to level up.. like everyone - but - you know, in my own way.

a few new figures - drawings and paintings..

a few new paintings and drawings.. still working on value relationships and forms.. school is back in session so i get much more practice time!! hope you dig! the paintings are on 11 x 14 panels.. the figure was about 2 hours, the little portrait is on 8 x 10 panel - about 60 minutes in oils..

all drawings on 18 x 24 smooth newsprint with 4b charcoal pencil at the ready!

I'm all green with envy. Seriously.

Your life drawings look awesome and so do your other works.
I like the colors you used for your 45 min painting

You've got them superskills, man, and your pencil drawings in particular inspire me greatly! The cross-hatching and line quality are both really great, and you seem to have a deep understanding of form. Great studies, I gotta keep coming here
