My sketchbook stuff... Update pg.4 Feb.7.10 watercolor/gouache study

I'm relatively new here and thought i'd share some of my sketches. A few months ago I was lucky enough to get into concept.org's Atelier school. It's been great so far and look forward to my growth from it. Crits welcomed and appreciated.

Cool, digging the character designs, and the creature. The sketchup model too, hope to see more of your work.

    Cheers

    New stuff.....

Here's some stuff I have been doing. The mouth cast was my first cast finished at the Atelier. It took me a while to get it down but am pretty happy with it for my first cast. The tunnel enviro is a WIP, but figured I would share as I am having allot of fun with it. The first image is a quick block in model I started in Maya, then am finishing it up in Photoshop. I also helped out with the crew gear for Star Wars the Clone Wars TV show. This is one of the t-shirts I did. The photo is pretty shity, so here's the orginal image also. I am looking forward to the Dallas workshop, hope to meet allot of new faces. Don't meass with Teaxas!

That tunnels is pretty cool. Did you paint the colored parts ? Or is there a bit of photo manipulation too.. ? Anyway, it looks nice !
Looking forward to meeting you at the workshop ! :]

DanielC - The tunnel in color is almost all photo textures. I am approaching it right now as a matte painting then will go in and paint.
Thanks. Yea same here Dallas should be fun.

Victor B - Thanks allot, glad to share.

    joyproject - Thanks, much appreciated.

    nurraymjo- Thanks man.

    new thumbs....

Here are some recent environment thumbs. Finally feel like I am sorta getting somewhere with my environments. After some words of wisdom from people at the Atelier I will be taking B. further, just in case anyone gives a shit lol.

Really lovely stuff, man. How do you progress through those environments you've been working on? Do you start them in black and white or do you just dive into color? I'd love to see more progress shots. Keep posting!

    Transit Tunnel...

I finally feel like my environments are catching up. I don't know how I feel about saying this, but I have come to love Maya. After blocking in environments its pretty gratifying to play with camera angles and really push the perspective. After a great critique at the Atelier I think this will be a nice portfolio piece after a few changes.
