If you're looking for guidence with anatomy and figure drawing Andrew Loomis is your man. He published 6 very good books on drawing. U can download them for free at a couple sites, dont have a link right now but if u google his name you should find them quite easily.

Keep drawing all the time, draw from life more because you will learn things like perspective and how to draw the figure. Dont concentrate too much on finishing sketches at this point, try to get the information down that you need and then move on.

Some of these anatomical studies are actually quite nice. But in some there are some very evident mistakes like a tiny head on that lifedrawing.
The lose style on the last images is quite nice. Try going in that direction.

    Cheers

    Thanks for the comment, Janos!

I have not posted anything in a while, my scanner software does not work well on windows 7, but I will work around it.

I will start off by posting the finish of the WIP, even though it is digital....

I think one thing that can help with the "sketchy" digital is starting out with a bigger brush. Keep using the largest brush until you can no longer. Also keep in mind your values especially on the last portrait. You have black, a medium gray, and a gray just slightly lighter. You need to push your darks darker and use a very light gray for highlights.

Welcome to CA.org, u got a great start to a sketchbook here. Not much to critique as it looks like your doing everything right, hitting the figure sketches, dabbling in digital as well as traditional. Looks like a good start to a sketchbook! have some starz by the way.

"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."

So I am attending a life drawing class. It has helped me a lot so far!
Sorry about the quality, I had to take pictures of these ones because my scanner is a bit small.
