    Getting Out of My Rock...Slowly ^^;

    Okay...Rookie here, not exactly sure what to post in the SB (but here's my latest sketches...comments on how to improve/ finish them ). I'm 18, under a Design Course. My style is dominantly Manga but I want to go a bit nearer to realism^^. And well be better on details and anatomy too.

    Welcome, Id recommend downloading some Loomis or Bridgeman books and start doing anatomy studies and such. This will help to move towards the realism side.

    Nothing wrong with manga if that is where your headin but anatomy and construction count's for manga too. There is some manga books around that could help you out.

    Try stuff like pencil preliminaries and drawing over the final pen erasing the pencil and then perhaps some color.

    But this is your scetch book so I can't really crit you on finish if that weren't the intention.

    Ah books...(have so much distractions when reading online^^ but I'll try. Any certain part of anatomy you can suggest I could start on?

    I've honestly got nothing against manga. I really like it but I want my style to be a bit different, a better blend of manga and and realism. And well for colored complete sketches, I've a DA account if you want to see^^.

    check out the bridgeman book(s), its mainly pictures, you dont need to know which muscles are which... not all of us are that anal...(hehe anal)

    i started on the arms because they are the first thing that comes up in book i think...cant remember, need to brush up on mine really

    but yeah check out bridgeman, his stuff is wizard

    and one more thing, a small rule of thumb, id steer clear of manga for a bit, general idea is that you get the realistic side down, THEN you stylise, just seems to work more

    art history snippet of today; picasso was a crazily good draftsman/drawer before he went into all that mad shit. check that out aswell if you can find it

    cheers
