I've been using SketchUp for some time, but I love that it's coming around in concept art. This is just a number of random examples, some more finished than others. If anyone participates in the SketchUp 3d challenge or uses the YouTube video tutorials, you may recognize some of these models.
The work that Kemp, Whit, Rich, Sam and others do in painting over their models is just awesome, I hope to learn from y'all to do that. As you can see I'm usually not much for texturing.
To give credit, I think one of these models was based on a painting by Feng Zhu, and others take inspiration from all over, but most of these are just something I was interested in at the time.
they are great, some very elaborate towns amongst that mix.. i have a long way to go before i conquer sketchup, it seems.
Great models! I'm particularly liking the mech hangar and the chessboard.
Hey great models Ty! I'm a beyotch for not finding this earlier. Me and the boyz here at the studio are cooking up something you might like, it's a caserole made with delicious geometry.
I think i spied some vehicles in there... awesome, and the landscapes are double awesome. Hope you're doing well dood. -kemp
I love the town hall. I keep coming back to this thread to look at it. Incredible.
Hey, that look good.
I've been using Sketchup but when I try to make large structures or something like a city or a town, my pc can't handle it. I might need to upgrade that rusty old machine.
Anyway, aside from that Awesome work, man.
very inspirational ! my favourites are also the towns and the stuff in the chessboard piece, great! =)
This is excellent inspiration, Tyson! It's great to see what can be done with this program (with the necessary talent, of course...)
I'm currently working on some mediaeval Persian urban planning for a couple of invented cities. It's an interesting project! Hope to post some WIPs soon.
