    Listening to Music while drawing

I dont know about you guys but i love blasting my favorite music while im sketching

i made this thread to find out what you listen to while you draw.
just a list of songs or artisits
Or if u have a specific preference of music to listen while drawing

Music inspires me when i draw and i sometimes cant draw with out it

    I love to listen to:
Minus the Bear, The Mars Volta or Muse while im drawing

that song from The Watchmen trailer "Muse - Take a bow"
i cant stop listening to that song

Also let me know about any good music artist

ALSO state wether a certain genre makes you draw a certain type of art
    i like ALL genres

Ive heard of all three, and I live in the UK, and I also happen to be fans of all three bands they are all very talented.
For me it depends what mood I am in to what I listen to while sketching or doing any artwork. I have to agree though Muse are great when doing art!

    Nightwish isn't Dutch. They're Finnish.

I listen to metal when I draw.

    Nightwish
    Kamelot
    Ensiferum

The order switches a lot, sometimes I'll play only one band or one song for an entire afternoon.

Tool is great for inspiration while drawing. I either listen to music or I put on a movie and listen (not watch although i may look up from time to time).

Hehe I guess I am I always have great ideas while drawing when I listen to them, it's also great that no two of their songs sound the same, so many, many ideas are created in my head! As for facial expressions, sometimes I do, but most of the time I have my 'concentrating' expression on.

I listen to his show via podcast while I draw at night. Or I listen to Manga/Anime Pulse podcast.

I just started listening to Turisas Battle Metal. Just that one song, it gets me pumped up but then I never get any work done cause I'm too busy jumping around being lame. So I don't know if I'd count that as drawing music.

Kinda off topic but it sorta goes with the whole thread... Around what time of day do you guess find you feel most creative? I find that all my best ideas and all my creative energy goes into overdrive at night and it seems to only increase the more tired i get. Like last night I had already been up for like 18 hours and I got an idea for a watercolor painting so I stayed up for another 6 hours working on it.

To stay on topic here are the bands I listen to normally while drawing or painting.
Tool (I already said this but they're so great I'll say it again)
    A perfect circle
    Modest Mouse
    Pearl Jam
Pretty much any band that sings songs that have deep, sometimes hidden, meanings. Things like that just trigger something in my brain that sparks creativity.

Just about anything of quality really...
I do prefer electronic stuff though, mainly DnB (DJ Baily on 1xtra)

With noisy kids in the house, silence is total bliss.

I didn't think it was possible to be called an artist when you have nothing to say. It's like being a writer who publishes individual words as books and expects to be praised for it.

Playing in bands for too many years has led to a minor case of tinnitus. Doesn't bother me unless it's quiet, so it's I-pod time for me when I draw.
As far as what I listen to, anything but country. Shuffle might take me from
EnVogue to The Circle Jerks to Howlin Wolf to Tool.

Sometimes I listen to music, but more often I listen to audiobooks. Anyone else like those?

But generally if I'm trying to do something quickly, I like listening to happy hardcore European electronic music or something else that moves that fast and happy.

But I like almost all genres really. Except for really dissonant and grungy, garbled, screaming, and unmelodious stuff.

I like Classical sometimes, if I'm working on something tough. I'm classically trained in violin/viola and piano, so it's comforting and familiar.

I like a lot of world music and folk music, particularly if its instrumental. Singing tends to distract me, which is odd since narrated books don't...

metal, classical, i listen to what is playing on my computer playlist. But i got to say that black and death metal are my weaknesses (bands like deathspell omega, behemoth, nile, cradle of filth, immortal, etc..... there's too much) or way more athmospheric music like tool (10 000 days powa!!!!!)
