I'd like to start posting some of my ideas and it's visualisations. It's just dreaming and trying to catch feeling of romantic fairy tales, dramatic movies and pathetic history by somebody completely captive by racional technical mind. It's how huge and impressive unreal things of other worlds can work, even if my presentation of them is not always such impressive.

So my firs idea is elephant such a big, that it can't be even thought as a animal, its rather a ship.

It was inspirated by something like druids and their oak, however, these characters realy aren't druids, their are some women kind spectres probably made of dark metter, because their are dark at all. Such beings meets at this tree.
The tree looked out a bit tiny on the pervious picture - like appletree in garden. Well, I tried to make it a bit more impressive and serious. Now it's better with the tree, but the strange presons are now almost invisible. It's a trouble, everything can't be big-and-even-bigger on the picture

Now some of my beloved nose-less creatures. Their can be even faceless because they don't eat by mouth and teeth. Tissue of their body is something between jelly of medusa and silk fibers. If they catch some victim, they amalganate fibers of their body into do body of victim and digest it as it is.

detail of faces - thes creatures are ferocious bud very melancholic and sentimental - can you see it in their eyes?
some of them live in swamps, very wet forests but with clear watter - no mud. Some liv in very very high grass on the shore.

Very iteresting way of drawing anatomy concepts of some creatures. Using one tyle pod brush for the backbone an an other (hollowed-circle, 1% spacing) for the muscles.

some outlaw or may-be assassin jumping on a knight
fight a hoplite with lighter armoured spearman.
some nomad riders on the ride. Probably a bid europanized.
this is pose of horse and rider which I'm relly not very good at. It allways looks a bit unrealistic.
Ent maiden, is really nice topic. I like trees, girls and long heirs. there I can put everything together.

Hi, you're off to a nice start at your sketchbook. You seem to have a lot of ideas and it is great to see them comming alive in your paintings. My favourite one of your posts is the sketch for the huge elephant. The use of colors in that one really captivated me and I would have loved to see them carried through to the finnished painting. But that's just my personal preference. Anyways, great stuff mate. Keep them comming.
Based on the same sketch (the first on the second picture in the pervious post)
I also tried to make a dryad. However I still can't finish it.
the best I can is this - she is child of dark forest, and she is fascinated by sun on the border, but alsou she knows how dengerous the sunny green field can be for her.
I tryied also other forks of this picture, but none was very good.
I can't even choose which face to use. I painted a few possibilities. It's my big problem, I never can take decisions.

There are some more sketch of the giant elephant with sails or tents,
Id like to expres size of elephant, nakedness of food soldiers and some action.
Also I want to play with light shining throught dust in air near ground and sails or tends in higher area in contrast to crystal clear skyes and fresh air above battlefiel. Food soldiers crawl in dust under legs of elephant while nobels riding elephant are like gods in confortable seats and fresh air.
I tried paint glass pot with watter standing in front of window on my table, to learn how to

My next favourite topic is Valkiria, It's not just nice oportunity to paint woman-warrior but also a mystical creature.
the first image reflect more the idea: Proud and seductive half-god takes fallen warrior to halls of Valhala. The second is more like common harpia.

Hi, thanks for encouragemnt, I would be happy for some critique and advices, like pointing out errors, what should I concern. I'd like to be more objective to judgement of my paintigs, because I was drawing/painting quite a long time without objetive critique and it's leads to acumulation of errors. You probably know what I think.
I'd like to keep up in this style and topic (ancient battles, mystical creatures) but I need first learn more about general aspects of painting.

my story telling and scenographic capabilities are very poor, I don't know what she sould do with her hands or how she should be set in the enviroment to interact with the scene

One comment: Composition seems a bit crowded, in my opinion. Try setting figures and objects up in a way that not only shows movement and action, but also draws focus of the eye to certain focal points of each piece. Also, don't forget to crank down on that detail and always look to improve the accuracy of proportions etc.

Yes, was thinking about his point, but if I paint the wing behind, the shine is not such impressive.
t2vanden > I completely agree, there is not enought space to let importaint things stand out, it's often a problem stuff the whole scenery into frame with enought detail of all parts you find importaint and still has enought space not to look crownded and disturbed.
Nice start but remember not to hotlink from places like blogger or deviantart, a bunch of the images you posted are broken links. I don't use the uploader too much, I use imageshack (which has worked fine).

Loathsome > Yes, naw I always use attachements, but before there I used university hosting and when I changed university it was deleted.
kingkostas > I realy esteem ecuragemnt form somebody with such a nice sketchbook. Yes, I do anatomy studies, actually there was some before the deleting from university hosting. I usually do studies of pose and gestures, maybe I should concern also details.
Firstly, I would like to say that your paintings are awesome, I really like how you paint, there is an airy quality about them which I'm very fond of.
For your drawing, mm if you are meaning just the drawing in paint, then I think some things could read a bit better, like here for example - http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1258918057
You are entitled to be vague, but that is maybe too fuzzy around the arms.
For your paintings, your colours are quite mild in terms of saturation, you also favour a more cooler palette at times. Maybe explore some green colours and warmer ones in general.

Yeh, you realyly point out thow things I wasn't aware of.
The third thing is (as I see now on my computer at work) that my monitor at home si probably very bad calibrated, because there looks everything much lighter ad less saturated.
