    Keen's Sketchbook!

EDIT: updating first picture to change icon.

    It's 2009! A good year to start a sketchbook I'd say.

As probably a lot of you here, I'd love to become a concept artist. So I figure setting up a sketchbook will help motivate me to keep drawing.

    Always looking for critiques!

Environments are based of Fheng Zhu's DVD.

You're a decent bit ahead of myself. I'm terrible right now but aspire to do environments. Good looking little thumbnails.

The first step - especially for young people with energy and drive and talent, but not money - the first step to controlling your world is to control your culture. To model and demonstrate the kind of world you demand to live in. To write the books. Make the music. Shoot the films. Paint the art.

Thanks IMBass. Yeah I'm going through Fheng Zhu's DVD right now and it's helping a lot with environments: http://www.thegnomonworkshop.com/dvds/fzh03.html

Here's more studies, Fheng Zhu, Loomis and Ref

Struggling with shading the head, I need to find a good technique for shading cause I'm just winging it.

    More art:

Haven't posted here in a while but I have been busy! Been buying a lot of DvDs and they have been helping a lot. Here's some more recent stuff.

Please critique! I'm always looking to improve.

    Wow, great stuff!
Your environments are fantastic. I really like how you showed the process with the apples. The head studies are great as well.
    Keep up the good work!
