I like the turtle and the golden haired dog gazing at you. Nice work.
i've not been as active a member as some, so no one knows me. I'm just going to be patient and do my best to keep posting more and hopefully better work. The talent that posts here is immense and i'm glad to finally start being a part of it.
I really like the new dragon piece.
Sorry I wasn't able to comment on it earlier.
You've got a mix of REALLY good and some not so good stuff going on in it though.
The dragon itself is beautiful, wonderfully painted, wouldn't change a thing.
My problem lies with the angel.
Her silhouette is awkward, particularly the back leg.
I would consider fading it into the BG more.
It's also a real peeve of mine when I see characters holding spears near the tip.
The very purpose of a spear is that it is LONG, so to hold it so close to the tip seems a little silly.
I'll try to do a paintover for you in the next few days.
If you don't hear from me, drop me a line to remind me.
And as Dave mentioned...
I think you handled the turtle really well.
The shell is implied so effortlessly.
I look forward to seeing you again this June!

I kinda feel the same way about the spear, but i had gone so far with it and made so many changes that I compromised the spear to get the tension at that spot in the painting. not the best excuse but i am open to suggestions.
And fading the leg is a good idea.
And again thanks for taking the time to have a look. June will be a blast.
created for a contest.
I have to thank Dan Dos Santos and Eric Deschamps for their extremely helpful advice and crits.
Won third place for a Wizards of the Coast contest. W00t!

Your John Carter of Mars picture is quite recognizable as such, and very nicely done.
your oil paintings are full-bodied and have a deep impression on me--i like it and am really moved by the poor eyes of the yellow dog ,the brave and wise girl like Joan and the sleepy quiet angel.
Wonderful work, inspiring and motivating thread!
I have been really enjoying watching your developement, through dA and here. The L5R cards are really hitting the spot. I love the hand resting on the hilt of the katana, a very subtlely created sense of power and confidence.
hey Aaron, Stephen from IMC, like I said at illuxcon the magic cards are awesome. Hope all is well and I will see you at the IMC in june.
