    EAST VS. WEST

I think this one can be fun since there are multiple ways one can interpret what East and West are.
I originally thought Europe vs. Asia, but it can also be America's westward expansion, some kind of gang war, or other things.

Guys try to Thank+ or quote the ideas you like from other people's posts because I don't want to be choosing topics that you guys aren't too happy about. SO If i get a good idea what people want then I can go through the topics in order

Seeing as we are soon to be at Teen Challenge 100, I think it would be cool if maybe we could do like the past few CHOW's and make it so that the winner chooses the next week's topic. Maybe starting at Teen Challenge 90 or something to build up to 100.

I'm gonna suggest some topics, some sandman influence with the D topics

    "The Hunt"
    "Desert Dwellers"
    "Magic"
    "Witchcraft"
    "Death"
    "Dream"
    "Destiny"
    "Hope"
    "Delight"
"Delirium" (a state of excitement and mental confusion, often accompanied by hallucinations)
"Desire" or "Temptation" as Jatari suggested
    "The Apprentice"
    "Warfare"
    "Battle Ground"
    "Brotherhood"
    "Undead"
    "The Boneyard"

for next TC, let me know what you think guys.

    Some more different ideas:

Redesign your favourite cartoon/hero/comic etc character

You'll be given 4 images of reference based on the topic. Come up with an idea, take the reference and using your painting program basically mash it up together using smudge, edit, cut, burn etc until you can't recognize the combination of reference images and start painting from there

Sketch Swap: 2 weeks long event, week one everyone creates a sketch, when everyone hands in their sketch, I'll swap the sketches with someone else and your job is to finish off the sketches in your own style or just plain finish them off

Storyboard: We make on story, or just choose a story. Create 20 or so mini themes to the story, every one picks one theme and creates something for it. We put it all together and see how it reads.

From TC 90, the winners will be picking the topic. Just remember to keep it open guys

Since this is teen challenge, I'll suggest a few relevant topics.

    Identity
    Nostalgia
    First Day
"Who do you want to be when you grow up. "
    Mother (Father, Sibling, Pets)
    Transit
    After School
    First Job/ Interview
Technology (Laptop, Computer, IPods ect. )
    First Love
    Getaway

I'm feel cheesy by the end of this, but hopefully the list can evoke some sort of emotion unique to each person.

I'm liking your alternate ideas lilnebo. The redesign, storyboard and sketch swap are all good. Maybe a Team Teen is in sight? Although I'm not sure if there are enough of us to make it as epic as the Team CHOW's.

I don't think we have enough people for a team one.
I also think sketch swap would be fun, but more for a collaboration, not a teen challenge.
Again, I will mention that I think the open ended topics are by far the best, and they are more popular!

Defiantly, not just popularity but as an artist you really do want to be able to explore your imagination and draw something that you'll enjoy.

For all the alternate ideas the topics will remain open, I'll see how all goes.

    Thanks for the input guys

Team challenge sounds fun! For the last one standing thing, perhaps a sketch swap would be a fun on-the-side activity for those who get knocked out. That way everybody has something they can work at for the duration of the contest.

Edit: Oh, and if we do end up doing a team challenge (we are getting way more people participating lately, I think it's do-able) should teams be randomly selected, or chosen by participants? Or a bit of both? It'd be logistically difficult to plan one of these, especially making sure that both halves have at least some input on the piece, and that boht will get their part done on time. But in the end I think it would be a valuable experience.

    "Desert Life"

    "meditations" / "Dreamscape"

I've been lurking for a while and have a few topic ideas, mostly song titles ripped off my iPod.

    Paranoid Android
    Knights of Cydonia
    Fools Gold
    Life on Mars (?)
    Banquet
    Baby's Eyes
    Death Ray Blues
    Happiness is a Chemical
    My Best Mistake
    The Disaster
    Ones and Zeros
    Rodeo Clowns
    Beat on the Brat

And here are a couple I bothered to think about

    Last Survivor - A Child?
Inspired Newt in the movie 'Aliens'

    The Lone Monument
A long lost city is left in ruins with only a single reminder of what was once a great and powerful civilisation.

    My Slightly Geeky Secret
What's your hobby or habbit that you'd rather not the world to know about? We've all got them

    That Thing You're Looking For
Show everyone the thing youn can never find the moment you need it most.

    Back to Eden
What if man was alowed back into the Garden of Eden?

    Cheers

Perhaps some archetype inspired topics such as
    -ghost
    -death
    -magic
    -holy

Or some mythologically based topics like
    -Pandora/ Pandora's Box
    -Creation

Or possibly fairy tale inspired with things like
    -Hansel and/or Gretal
    -Little red riding hood
    -Alice in Wonderland
    -Goldilocks and the three bears

Also I saw this challenge on a reality show but I thought it'd be cool here
Design a book cover for a classic novel such as:
    -Pride and Prejudice
    -Great Expectations
    -Little Women
    -A Tale of Two Cities
    -Frankensteins Monster
...can't think of anymore right now but I'm sure there's many more interesting titles.
And for those who haven't read the book or don't know what it's about just do something inspired by the title in some way.

It would be interesting to see different interpretations on these!
