Ahh! The Asaro head is gonna eat me! LOL. Nightmarez

No that is a great cast; I've worked with it and will work with it again and again. It does work really well, and is very instructive.

Nice job on this latest one; and if you'll permit a comment...

"Facial Geometry" represents the correct idea about drawing, in general. In America, it's sad that people don't get taught that geometry and drawing are intertwined inseparably. Here, for the last 100 years or so, the craft of drawing has largely been either lost of purposefully covered up. Thank goodness there are a handful of people who know what the game is and how to teach it.

In Europe I'm guessing this is not a problem; drawing is still taught the traditional way... with geometry.

Thanks man. Your work is inspiring.

Nice. I really like the last one of the asaro head. I need to do a couple of studies of that thing too, it looks really helpful, especially for creating faces from imagination.
You seem to be able to get some nice form on your pencils, especially on the smaller forms, but you need to be more aware of the overall form. It sometimes helps to unfocus your eyes to see the value, then the larger (and more important forms) will be more apparent.
    Nice work, keep at it.

Wow, gusy, thanks for all the support and comments. I didn't have internet for the last few days, so I was delighted to see so many responses when I got back.

Raoul Yeah, I read that, I just wanted to experiment a bit.

Mr.Alamo, C Haha, geiler Name. Danke! Ich lass mich auch mal wieder bald auf precore blicken!

Luckers Thank you very much. I need to get a lot of stuff out of my system lately, I guess that shows.

Knoxie Thanks. The paper I used is normal packing paper. Its very cheap and has a nice texture and colour. The only problem is that it doesn't like water, so it tends to curl up.

    Lav Thank you!

Black Delphin I will, I promise.

Liffey Thank you, I really enjoy them as well. More are coming!

p sage Yeah, thanks to Raoul I found out about the Asaro head. I am going to work with it, sadly for the time being only in 2dimensional form. Its just too expensive atm. Perhaps in the futur I will be able to get one. I also agree that geometry is a substantial tool to drawing, but trying to express something is as important. When skill, understatement and expression come together, you have a masterpiece. I hope I will achieve that in the future.

FraserMcT Good tip. I often draw with one eye closed and unfocus it to grab forms, but I guess I will need to take it a step further.

zerdron You are absolutely right. Work, Work, Work!

Okay guys, here some new stuff. These are supposed to be dream portraits of mythological creatures.

    1. Medusa

    2. Cyclops

    3. Manticore

Enjoy it and let me know what you think.

man you always work on such cool concepts! are they all school assignments?
Anyways, i really like your updates but i get a confused feeling from the medusa portrait around the eyes and hair, i wish that area would have been defined a bit more but that's probably just personal taste
Other than that really digging the updates, keep it up!

Comalarm Cool, dass du subscribed bist. The gestures are total crap, I just dont seem to be able to relax...

Portrait galore, all from life. I first painted the paper with watercolours and woodstain, then after letting it dry I drew on it with charcoal and lastly put highlights with pastels. I like the technique, might do more of that.

PS: Feel free to nominate me!

That's.... some creepy sh*t right there. Totally love it, also the vivid colors.
The first 2 portraits for your last post are also quite captivating.
Man ist gespannt auf weiteres, holde Grüsse aus der Schweiz.

That last series is beautiful. Love the warmth of the red and the sense of light - it describes the character of the subject as much as their features.

    miyck Thank you!

Keevin Vielen Dank. Neues ist schon in Arbeit.

Marian Rowling Thank you. The first one is defnitely the best one, I agree.

TASmith Thank you, I was aiming for some more depth, glad I achieved it.

The first portrait was kind of a study of an image I found on here a long time ago, I forgot the original artist though. Anyways, it kind of took on a life of its own and developed by itself.
The second and third one is a similar technique as in the last post, just more work spent on it.

There's great stuff on this page, love the portraits. They're so dynamic, and it's nice to see traditional media. Don't usually see much of this kind of work on this site, keep it up!

Jasper Thank you Jasper. I decided to tackle traditional before digital, at least the basics. I think I will improve in both fields a lot faster and better if I get the basics down first.

    KingKostas Thanks. I'll keep pushing.
