Steampunk Entry - Hanging Gardens of Babylon

This is my Steampunk Entry on CGNetworks. The guys over there are pretty unfriendly to newcomers, so I never really got any feedback. Can you guys help me out?!

    Cheers, n.

I like it. It's a cool concept, with a nice composition and feel, however, if you're going to call it steampunk, I think you need to steampunk it up a little bit more. Except for the blimps in the background, this could be contemporary sci-fi. A little more onamentation on the mesh screens that surround the garden might help. Also architecture and design back then were very formal and regimented. A randomized, almost pixel-like edge like that, with missing panes and off-kilter lines, would never have been done.

Good work though. Keep it up!

yeah, this definitely shows promise. Just needs to be more in the architecture. More to look at and draw the eye in, and indeed the more steam punk details and hanging gardens details you can put in the better.

Baravelli: That means nothing to me.
Professor Wagstaff: Well, it doesn't mean anything to me either. I'll try it over again. I'm Professor Huxley of Wagstaff College.
Baravelli: Well, you didn't stay at the other college very long.

Hey guys! Since the competition was extended, I decided to redo the whole thing with all of your comments and the stuff I had learned (too noisy) integrated. I have added it at the top!

its getting much much better dude!
    couple of suggestions:
    - need a loose background (like a horizon line, some ocean and some clouds) to strengthen the perspective and to add a bit more color to the scene
    - I really like the balcony in the middle-ground, so I think that should be in focus (instead of the airships where it is at the moment because of the sharp edges)
    - add a backlight (some kinda warm light like pale orange or smtg) to the guys standing on the balcony
    - add more details to the same area. bring it to life man! like hanging clothes, small palms in a pot, etc.
    - might need something for the very foreground as well, but not sure - maybe a couple of blurred out leaves, cause its a garden heh

keep on pushin! you still have 3 days man hah!
