That's really good for your first model! Nice texture work. Maybe some more wrinkles on his head would make it look a bit more like the drawing? Post the wireframe when you get a chance.

Hm no stick with maya if your going for movie production. Maya have actually taken a significant part of the games market latly so you shoyuld stick with that if you feel that it has what you want to be doing.

I choose max because its easy to work with but if I should come in a situation where it no longer offers or can do what I want with it then i would change or at least look over the options other softwares offer. Nowadyas though the softwares look more and more alike so it would be a ahrdchoice.

The major part of the gaming industry do use maya and max though.

    In maya
Ok so wire render it is.. Im not that familiar with newer versions of maya but i know that older maya couldnt render objects in wireframe as easy as for ex MAX with wich you can just change the shader wireframe option.

check here for a tutorial with maya.
    http://www.geocities.com/jozvex/tuto...wireframe.html

Probably newer version have shaders supporting wireframe rendering.. but who wants to render with maya anyways.... hoho...

Also I think in this case just take print screen of the wireframe viewport and post... that is sufficient...

Puh... Ill check back to se the wire/update and give it a thought or two.

thanks a lot guys. i am currently putting another one together....should go faster than this last one. the texturing on this one took forever and still lacks in some places. i automatic mapped the entire thing, then sewed the peices back together. like i said this is my first one so...i didn't pay attention to laying my UV's out similar to the build on the model. LOTS of stretching fixed by painstakingly pushing paint in pshop or painter and going back and forth between those programs and maya. i will be smarter next time.

thanks for the tutorial too. i will give it a try later tonight...if i'm not too busy self-portraiting or modeling or drawing or....sleeping.:p

thanks!! yeah, i have one more completed...just need to texture it. i was running into some problems with how to approach the next texture job. i automatically mapped the one above and all that sewing edges stuff drove me nuts.

i'll try to get to it in the next few days. i've been trying to beef up the ol'portfolio with some color work. so many things to make:p so little time.

naw, there's a lot of time in a day :p
