    quite nice start man!

i like the crow in thumbs- but i hope that you haven't use black color to paint it...maybe you gotta search a little bit brighter and saturated color...
    cool anathomy studies

    cheers!

Thanks, selfu. Yeah, I think that is a pure black - I read somewhere that you should avoid pure blacks and whites, but many reference images I use do have those colors in them (due to low image quality, maybe?). Maybe it's ok to not adhere too strictly to the references.

Erter, nice start to your SB. Don't know if you're looking for advice but in case you are... work from life as much as possible. Maybe get a good action figure or a toy animal and draw it from different angles to get a sense of how things come together, how weight distributes, how shadows happen. It's th best way of making progress. Your stuff shows some skills, keep posting, and good luck!

So, I went out and bought an action figure. A cool black spiderman one And here are the first sketches, using it for reference. I am sure doing more of these could be really good.

Thanks again, Bill. Really appreciate any feedback or criticism. I think the action figure is great practice - being able to see the figure in 3D space gives a bit more understanding of what is going on. I find it a lot harder to draw that than drawing from image references, which is good because that means I'll be learning stuff by doing it Also it's nice as a reference when trying to nail a specific pose from imagination.

That looks a lot better than some of your older stuff!

Remember to consider objects relationships to each other.

Those road lines look a little big compared to those buildings.
