This is Mutley's pick ffor the topic for EOW 102

    Brief
I find this a fascinating subject. it takes us out of the realm of the concrete and realistic
because it is an environment of the mind

    REQUIRED
    outer space
    inner space

Well, while you wrote the new EOW, I was sleeping

Anyway, it's a little abstract topic, so in comparing to previous EOW, there might be lesser challengers. But I'm going to it, I like such themes.

Here's a WIP. Not sure if I'm going to go with this one, as I don't think it shows that we're in space, talking about space dementia. Using the environment to show state of mind is an interesting challenge. I'm aiming for cold, paranoid, claustrophobic, and surreal, so my ideas so far have been to mix environments. I'm trying to think of boogeymen, or weird things that only happen in dreams, that I can add.

Oh, I am SO going for this! This is the kind of thing I regularly try to achieve in my art - only, more bodies and less environment - so still a challenge.
    *excitement!*

*edit* actually Im not quite sure how to interpret this.

    Outer space.
    inner space.

    Brief
I find this a fascinating subject. it takes us out of the realm of the concrete and realistic
because it is an environment of the mind
    so...environment of the mind.
as if we could look inside our -conceptual- brains and show whats there?
I'm thinking of the movie "The Cell" - that was definitely an environment of the mind.
I'm also reminded of the many environments of dreamland from the Sandman comics.

but what about the 'outer' space part?

well.. i does say "space " dementia. theres a lot of ways you could go with that. one way id as the vision of outer space by a mind that has gone insane.
ti definatly leads my imagination towards a sense of hallucination caused by the vastness and isolation of how I imagine space travel would be.

    but
space could be interpreted a lot of ways too

what I was getting at withthe innerspace outerspace dichotomy is that it's not "just" "space" it's space as seen by someone/thing. whose senses are not interprrting it literally.

dunno if this helps..or makes it worse

It's defiantly interesting. But at first it seems difficult to merge the two; also how to show them together in one image I feel is going to be key.

I like the idea of almost forced hallucination through isolated travel i.e. a character looking out of a ships window and seeing something paranormal like a Tron face made from the clouds of dust.

I seem to remember an article about how Hubble or some astrologer had taken a picture of the clouds which had the suggestions of the face of Jesus.
The whole idea of super imposed images/hallucinations over natural space seems to be my logical path through the idea.
