    Saa's sketchbook

    Hey there.

I haven't been around for quite some time, now I figured that it would be a good idea to start fresh.

I've had a sketchbook on CA for over 2 years and I don't know where I would be now if I hadn't found this awesome site.

A little about me, I'm a 20 year old "fine art" () student living in Vienna, Austria. Currently I'm working on a 10 minute 2D short animation film with a friend of mine. I don't want to give away any infos yet, you'll hear about it soon enough

In the past weeks I wasn't really focused on anything really and I want to change that, be part of that awesome community again.

I've attached some of my works so you can get an idea of what I'm doing. Thanks everyone for your support.

hey it´s pretty cool to see you here, I saw already some of ur stuff on the daf. You´ve a really cool feeling for tonal values and skin tones, love the bright blue on the right side in your last pic.
Pretty cool works and I´m quite curious about your animation project!

    Graunfeldt , grenappels , mariusz , Diego , Slobosaurus , PieMonster , BubbaGump : Thanks!

Alchemy + my kneedable eraser. Should be more concerned with the pencil than with the eraser actually.....

Beautiful work, it's interesting to see the relationship between your more classical and abstract elements, it looks like you're developing some work that shares the visual language and arrives at something new. I'm looking forward to seeing where it all leads.

Really nice work Saa! I've got to say that my favourite out of all of these is the first one; is that a self portrait? Really nice linear technique going on there. All of the work here is good. Did you just use your fingers on the little sculpture you made, or did you shape it with tools? I have a lot to learn from you!

    It's all I do
    - apart from being the greatest artist who's ever lived
    - but that's nothing LOL

very nice, the black& whites are very interesting to look at, very refreshing style. You're not the first who does this, but there's definately something new about them, your personal spin on the style, 5 stars!

Those paintings are GRIMY in such a good way! I don't know about the abstractions though, they feel a little harsh...

Wow, thanks everyone for your comments, I really appreciate your interest.

Diego , vinay vikram singh , aedman , voxelfog , amarryth , NightVision , a la bapsi: Thanks a lot!

    Chate Noire : Toda raba!

tompn5 : Thanks man, yes the first one is a selfportrait, and I used my fingers and my pencil to sculpt the eraser

PieMonster : I'm glad that I could help.

keith eager : Thanks for the link, I know him already. As for the crit, at the moment I'd rather prefer you to say that the style feels harsh than visually uninteresting, I'm trying to develop it to something bigger than it is now, so everything is a progress. Thanks for pointing it out.

Slobosaurus: Thanks man, I started painting in oils a little over a year ago, in the past summer I've been attending an oil painting workshop at the Angel Academy in Florence. That definately helped.

Some more alchemy stuff. I'll be away for a little over a week so I won't be able to post updates in that time. What I can do is produce the material
Happy new year to everyone in advance.

awesome studies, you've got solid foundation and working and 2D animation, my dream !!!

i'm staring at the 7th drawing of your first post. the fragmented seating man with glasses: is this an exercice to detach areas of shadows or is it a personal drawing.

    i'm voting for your thread

Those symmetrical type of Rorschach figures are pretty great, and the paintings are awesome. But you have this sort of abstract approach of the figure that I thing that's the best of your work.
Hey 20 is way to young to be that good, slow done a little.
    Cheers mate.

Hi there! They're nice pics, I have to say you're very talentful with that young of an age. I envy you D:

I like the alchemy stuffs; and since I haven't heard of it and searching seems too...vague, may I ask just what it is? A program or some kind of a technique, perhaps?

Also, I like the shapes pictures! For the face drawing; your shading is great but I think it's still looking kinda...tilted. Still, it's me accentuating the negative, I guess. You're awesome either way.
    Good luck!
