In this thread i will show all of my sketchbook scribbles, Please critique away!!

Most of them are done observing various statues from either Thorvaldsen's Museum or Den Kongelige Afstøbningssamling, in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The first drawing is my first attempt on gesture drawings. I did it about 2 month ago. The rest are more recent.

Very Nice! I am trying to imagine being in Denmark
and seeing all of those marvelous works of art.
I am impressed with your skill level at this point,
keep at those gestures, and post everyday.
I want to watch you take off!

Lots of heads, mostly from life (statues).

(These were originally in the first post, but decided to move them down here - new stuff in next post)

Made these over Christmas. Random heads + 30 sec posemaniac's + some drawings using refs from MMAphotography + some digital paintings (using refs).

bahh not much art done this week. Had final economy exams yesterday, so not much time for drawing. Got an A in economy though

Tried to do a face that was bottom-lit - not too successful. Gotta practice values more.

You've got a good eye for shading, a bit more depth like defining your shadows from your highlights could help but you seem to be progressing there.

Good to see lots of figure drawing, I was told to try and make stronger, confident lines to make your images look a lot sharper, all the fluffy edges to your drawings seem to let them down.
It took me ages to gain the confidence, still not sure if I've got it, but it does seem to help improve things.

    Anyway, I'm babbling. Keep drawing!

Not many updates lately. Exams at Uni takes up alot of time, but i do manage to squeeze in a drawing or two a day.

@ Porg: Thanks for dropping by More confident line? yessir! have been experimenting with that in some of my new posemaniac drawings. Thanks.

Lots of poses, some drawings from ref and imagination. Some bridgeman. The bear boxer im pretty happy about, used both refs of polar bears and mma-boxers to do it

    @ sourgasm: Thanks!

Went to Glyptoteket the day before yesterday, lots of good ancient statues to draw. Only had time to draw one full figure and some heads. More next time!

Also some 60 sec poses and some Bridgeman studies.

I notice you confidence in line work in you gestures has gone up. Gesture styles of Vipplu? That polar bear reminds me of klondike ice cream bars. Man, they shrunk those ice bars so small to save money, it feels a bit cheapy to eat.

good work, same kinda stuff i am working on, it's all good and great practice! I like your black and white digital stuff best.

I'd recommend a darker pencil 4B+ if you want your pencil stuff to show up well!

@AlexTooth: Thanks usually i used HB or H pencils, but this new batch is done with B and 2B. And it really helps gonna try some 3B now.

The knight on the first image is a study of a warhammer painting.
All the faces are from MMAPhotography.

Nice stuff. I liek the shading and teh classical studies a lot. I'd try doing some postprcessing on teh gesture sketches though. Its all a little hard to see.

@ Janos: Thanks. I'll try and do that. I also think i'll try and use a little longer per pose so i dont have to rush them that much.

Put some values on the guy with the big boomer from my previous post.

Gonna do some more studies now!

I was a bit surprised to see that gunmen on the bottom, I didn't expect him to be that short looking at him just from the waist up. Haha. But it still works. My only suggestion is had a bit of battle damage to the weapon or clothing folds on top of his shirt. You can also had metals of honor if you wish or a team logo some where on the guy.

@ NewGuy22: Yup. That and museums.

@ Pigeonkill: A little more bit of props and stuff would probably help yes. I gues it wont break up the "clean" look that much.

New batch: bridgeman and faces (some from "the hobbit")
