With reference its easy Quinn, I just paint what I see. The problem is what I can see in my minds eye isn't so easy for me to portray in paint or line:/ thanks though bro

Brilliant Matty. Though my monitor can't produce intense light, I feel I need to squint into the sun on the last one. Haha. Sooo well done mate, great lighting.

Cool new stylistic directions, and nice landscapes, the foreground dosnt really mesh with the mountains in the distance in the first one, the rocks look more cartoony and bold, but the house image is swell! Jigjie is right, it makes me want to squint too.

I was kinda worried 'bout going into comix... like it will take the time needed for traditionals away etc... But seems like some humans can handle them both...
Thanks a lot. I was really deep down in depression thinking of it.

snootchy- Thank you bro, very encouraged by your reaction

Marlee.- Thank you m'dear, your very kind

Creusa- Thanks Creusa, good of you to say, and glad I could help

jigje- Cheers mate, and thanks a bunch for the message

Dana_T- Thank you Dana! what a nice post

alexson- Thank alexson, glad you dig!

teapo- Cheers again man, always appreciated

Sean McClain- Thanks. It was 'based' on a photo my parents took in Queens Town. I changed the composition, moved the whole scene around, added rocks in the foreground and added that sunstrike bit.
I needed the reff for the perspective on the shed, and also the colour scheme, which was SOOOOOOO bright and rich!

    raminafshari- Haha cheers

Pencils are really great man, Love the cleanliness and good line weights.
With the digital stuff id watch out for using a small sized brush too much, in some places things look a little scratchy sort of like pencil shading. If your doing that it needs to be more deliberate and clear IMO.
The last painting is nice though, the eye seems to have such depth inside it. Its real nice. Keep it up!

what you call a "failure" is probably something that would make the rest of us salivate hahaha.. well whatever you do don't get discouraged, as Bobby Chiu always says, "Punch frustration in the face!! Because if you're frustrated it just means you're on the edge of something great."

And hey I love Bright Eyes too!

hello Matt, hope you're doing well! I enjoy coming in here and looking at your growth: constant reminder that I need to get my finger out a bit. Plus your pictures just make me pretty happy (I'm enjoying your lovely fluid ink lines). Top notch.

Man, you've got some great shit in here. And you've got a really versatile range of skill too. Your sketching, painting, rendering, value and color are pretty badass.

Only thing I saw to crit so far is some of those hands studies look like they could use a bit more structure to them.

In any case, epic work. Keep it up, you're definitely gonna make a splash!

nice pencils, inks, paints, everything! Very well rounded sketchbook. I like the self-portrait, and even though I don't know about the likeness it looks nicely painted.

Respect for getting to 70 pages too!
