Matt, you're 16? You are are on a really great track. The line in your figure studies is strong. Your anatomy is good and will only getter better with practice, both in accuracy and fluidity. It looks like you have the beginnings of a "style" with the linework as well, not that you should be worrying about that right now. One crit... watch your composition in that church piece, symetric composition is usually a "faux pas". Other than that draw from life as much as possible and keep on truckin.

Nice start in here. Liking the developing style. I really like those color pencil works and the skull.

hmmmm for that improvement thingy. I didn't see to much improvement in terms of form, but you line work has gotten much more advance since 2006.

and your WIP is looking pretty good, not a big fan of the face though.

My57- Hi mate, and happy Christmas, thanks for your crits bro (I feed off them and they power my supernatural abilities so please keep them coming!), On the first I didn't really have to change the form to much as that's how it was in the reff (Hogarth), and yeah I'm not sure about the face on that other one yet ether, but I work on it a bit more.

    Cheers mate,

    Matt

First I want to say, Merry Christmas

Wip isn't looking to bad so far. I actually like it. Though the face needs more work if you ask me, but since its a wip you might agree on that.

But my main concern is the sword. Forst of I would change the whole angle of it, because of the way the fingers are grabbing it. If you hold a stick you see that you little finger also wraps around the sword
But also the design of the sword. usually the hilt has a 90 degree angle from the sword itself, as I have poorly tried to illustrate.

Good luck, and keep at it. You are doing great
btw, I put the copyright on the image under you name of coarse
    Chris

That's not a bad characterisation, but you should have kept the head more like liam neesons, the rugged face suited the slightly shabby clothes better than the clean shaven, well coifed one you've given him.

those figure studies are going to pay off, keep at em'

figure studies, and your landscapes look good too.. 16? whew.. dude you should kick some ass when your a old shit like me.. you seem to have a decent grip on your own style, the defined cheek bones, you made it work.. in the end, it is all about style. keep diversifying, exploring, and remember you already have one style up your sleeve for latter projects... I love seeing young dudes like you rockin' along in life... cheers homey!

Hey Matt, thanks for dropping me a line in my SB, just had a quick look through what you've got on here, very cool work. What did you reference the first few images from? Those exagerated muscle structures always fascinate me and I'm never too sure where to look for them. Hendrix is looking cool, as always, heh.

    Keep up the good work!
