Right, here's a sketch for a collab I'm doing with Alex (Ghostbrush) for fun. We chose 'pirate' as our topic, and I've gone for a pirate pin-up... KellyX would be proud!

    Keep well guys,

I really like the pinUp setting.. I'd change the pistol for a cutlass though.. it looks more.. phallic, maybe?

Great work on the life drawings too!!

Shiver me timbers! (it HAD to be said) That's one hot lass! With that sultry expression and...uh, well presentable chest, she's the very definition of a pinup. Oh, and the boots, can't forget the boots! The boots are hot too! I bet she'll be smokin' when finished Is Ghostbrush gonna take care of that, perhaps?

Um, that aside: the life drawings above are top-notch. I so envy your dedication and spirit, it's contagious! I'm gonna go and draw now Moar, moar!

That J Manley speech is pretty damn inspiring, thanks for posting it.

The life drawings are great, really great. Some really expressive strokes which gives them a lot of movement. Awesome man

Can't really go wrong with pirates ha. Good job to both of you on that one.

HEY! nice life studies, but i see there are some wonky area's in some of them. Most are just careless mistakes.

Im lazy and dont wanna explain them all b/c im sure you'll notice them if you look more but as a suggestion try to look at the whole picture of the figure and remember proportion and perspective. Then go for the detail.

dont worry though there aren't many where you made mistakes.

Nice life studies anyways though, really clean.

My observational skills may be great but i said nothing about my drawing skills

Heres Ghostbrush's awesome sketch that I then coloured in. Had fun playing round with the colours, but not really pleased with it yet. Will try again later!

    Finished Slayers Terminater Portrait.

Some sketches, no reff. I've really been trying my best to drawing the figure from mind, but as you can see I'm still failing.

And finished the my pirate gal sketch, was so inspiard after seening Alexs work, so I wanted to get some values in there.

    Life Drawings to come.
    Cheers,
    matt

Wow great update, just 1 thing the pirate chick at the end her face seems a tad off. Either that or the hair is tricking me. PS I love pirates (except butt pirates)

    Juicy new stuff!

I quite like the direction you're going with your colouring of Ghostbrush' pencils. The colour scheme and lighting both seem interesting to me. But then again, whutever do I know? Keep doing what you do best!

The cyborg portrait freaked me out, haha. Good work, I bet that kind of reaction was what you were going for, huh?

Really good sketches, as usual. The dude second from bottom is really interesting, I like how you rendered him too. And your pirate lass is even more badass in your refined pencils You should do more pirates, arrr!
