Leon Ro-Thanks, hope you enjoy my new concept!

This is a cleaned up version of the number 2 concept for an access panel...for the Eclipse full conversion mod.

I just did a simple model of the concept in Maya, set up the lighting in Maya, then did a texture/color paint-over in Photoshop.

Jorge Gecov-Thanks! I'm still working on those guns...hope to have them finished soon. And I'm digging your sketchbook btw. It's really inspiring to see one progress so quickly.

The rendering on the guns are starting to look really nice! I'm thinking about learning 3D to use in my 2D work. That lighting tool in maya looks really useful.

tandy1000-Thanks! You should, it seems to be becoming a common tool for concept artists these days. I heard SketchUp and Silo are very easy to learn. And SketchUp's lighting looks good enough for concept work...mental ray (Maya) is a pain in the ass to learn at first.

derbz-Thanks mang. I'm going to try and post more renders of some projects as I work on them from now on. I really like your last two enviros btw...keep em coming!

PeNcIl ReBeLlIoN-Glad you dig my work! I'm seriously blown away by your sb...

Josef K.-aww jeez, I'm blushing...thank you. I really enjoyed your characters and studies, thanks for the motivation.

shiroboi-lol, come on now, stop it!

Thumbnails of a new project I just started working on, on top of the video game project. The new project is for a friend...he has a few anime stories that he wants character concepts for. I happily obliged since I haven't done any character concepts/drawings for a loooooong time.

This character has a "special" suit of armor...takes place in the near future...etc. etc.

I'll post more images/details as I progress...need to get back on the video game shiz though.

btw, those aren't wings...that thing on his back, in the first thumbnail, serves as extra protection and houses a power unit that both powers the suit and cools the suit...the suit/armor parts expand, including the power unit thingy, when it really over heats...down side...it makes the character more vulnerable. Thought it would lead to more interesting scenarios.

Very cool new sketches. What features does the suit have? Powers, abilities, ect.

shiroboi-hey thanks. Well, not sure what my friend has in mind for his characters abilities, but I'm thinking nanosuit type armor...I'll post more details as we develop the character.

Did a quick perspective/ light and shade study during a break here at work. Downloaded Loomis's Successful Drawing and Figure Drawing For All Its Worth PDFs. Need to do more studies.

Here's a little update on the Drako concepts. Oh, and I got rid of the wing things...they were kinda bothering me.

    OmertA- Thanks mang!

Here is the final in-game model. A Maya real time hardware render (color, normals, and wire) without any glow effects (since they will be applied in the material editor in Sandbox 2) and my color/diffuse map made in photoshop.

Some more Eclipse stuff I'm working on atm. All works in progress.

Concept(ing) and modeling an alien chain/rail gun, female character medium armored suit, melee weapon, and acceleration pad.

My workflow (if I'm modeling something):

first start out with a few thumbnail sketches in pencil, Sketchbook Pro, or photoshop (whatevers handy)

then scanning it in if need be

start modeling out the basic shapes in Maya, and whatever detail is in the sketch

    render whatever i have

bring the image into photoshop and play around with more details

continue modeling in details from the paint over

...repeat last 2 steps if need be.

Then when it comes to the texturing phase, add color.

hopefully I'll have more updates soon.

Some quite professional stuff here mate, though I think that the major might have been a little too well endulged in the breast department

Anyways, that terminal you made was pretty cool, and your sense of design is very nice, so keep rocking, this stuff is coool^^

Sarkey- Thank you sir, hopefully I'll have some soon!

Mischeviouslittleelf-Appreciate the feedback! Yes, she is well endowed indeed. Most of my teammates took issue with her breast size. But I assured them that in the future, women will be able to change their breast size with the push of a button

    Bartovan-Thanks, more coming!

Muz- Thanks for the kind words. Check out the lead character concept I did just for the ladies. Baine and the Major get along well together

A couple of quick thumbnails for possible (Eclipse) weapons.

Been working on a few other things of course...but unfortunately I can't post them atm since we need some surprises for when we release the mod. Although I can tell you...one of the things is clothing for the Major

MrHaRtUnG- Hey, an Eclipse fan! We're really excited as well. A lot of hard work has been put into it and it's finally looking as if it's going to pay off soon. I've been working on this project for almost a year now (on the side) and we've gone through so many ppl and changes...which slows down the process. But it's cool working with real pros...we've even lost artists to Blizzard! But their real jobs come first. It's fun working with nubs like my self as well...

Anyway, yeah I'll let you know for sures when it's released.

So, been working on a few things for the game, some I can't show you, but these may wet your whistle...or not.

A real-time in-game version of the accel. pad I did the concept for as well...and another concept...some kind of water filtration/pump prop for one of the maps. I think Stefan Morrell is modeling this puppy atm.

P.S.- The lights on the accel. pad will be added later in the editor. And the concept is a sort of work in progress, still need to add color/texture to it.
