Kambei: Thanks, man! I will keep pushing! I checked out your SB, love the enviros, they are quite realistic.
I gotta tell you, I am no fan of the attachment manager. It's always losing my uploads and why do I need to have 4 levels of categories? Can't there just be a default setting? Do people search for images by category?
I hope that this gets fixed someday, it would just be nice to do painless batch uploads.
A re-visit to an old work. Trying to polish up the portfolio a bit and see if there are any old works that I could make better. I think that it reads better now, composition might be a little more solid. Not sure about the lens flare and I might need to ditch the heavy rim light on it's right side, it's supposed to be from the moon, the other rim light should be obvious that it's from the light house. Thanks for looking!
Some updates. The first started as just sketching, but my wife liked the idea of women dancing in the sky so much I have to finish it. The second was a quicky after seeing Stylus Monkey's (AKA MagicMan's) youtube videos. Damn that guy is inspiring.
OMG! The new attachment manager is so much better!
I haven't been back here since the upgrade, can;t wait to see what else is new.
Here's some work. Probably spent around 4-6 hours each.
Thanks for looking.
I really like your environments!
One thing i noticed is that your work is missing hardedges, it's often pretty round and smooth all over the place, try to find a good balance between hard and soft edges it would make look your images more dynamic/interesting.
Some warm up sketches from this morning. I just got an Intuos 5 Touch Medium! Upgraded from a tiny Graphire with a postcard sized screen. This is the first time I've ever painted digitally and felt like I'm not fighting the medium. The touch sensitivity is soo much better and having a tablet size that is closer to my screen size helps tremendously, it feels way more real. Not sure if I'll ever use the touch features or the quick keys, I'm so used to having my other hand on the keyboard for shortcuts. I would love to figure out a fast way to change brush sizes though.
