Hello... here is a piece I finally finished using Photoshop. Please take a look and tell me what you think of it - what's working, what's not; what aspect of it should I work more on... etc. Thanks a lot!
Here is with some plants that probably look rather plastic:
...and here are a couple of other recent pieces I did, the 2nd one has been posted here before, but now has some minor changes.
pencil on paper:
hey !! i love that pencil work , its great (no criticism there ) . in the third one i would say , somehow i look at those lockers which are kinda sharper than the female warewolf which im guessing should be the focus ?? one more thing , the lockor window which is open , seems kinda skewed perspective wise at the top ?? or smthing about those 4 parallel lines on it ...
for the first piece , i like the one without the plants , the plants should be much darker i think ?? (i might not be totally accurate with those critiques and might be wrong myself , hey , im only learning and trying to improve myself , so no offense meant .... )
the pencil is great, you really need to work on your digital stuff though, its looking like two different artists made these, in a bad way.
Jeff: thanks for your praise
vibhas virwani: Thank you for telling me. I'm also learning and trying to improve myself - especially in the digital media. Please, say what you think, I won't take offense, promise!
Lotet: I have split personalities...j/k. I will work hard! Pray one day the 2 sides of me will meet and merge. Thank you for your honesty!
The pencil drawing is really impressive. It looks like you're still developing your digital style, so keep at it. I see some solid stuff going on in the head and neck of that basilisk in particular. The lighting on the last one is pretty well done too. If you get your photoshop work to the level of your pencils, you're set!
Also, keep in mind that the viewer is going to more thoroughly enjoy a scene they can somehow be a bit involved in. In both of the photoshop paintings above, there appears to be something going on-- but we have no idea what it is. The basilisk has a pretty good expression going, but aiming it at a flower is nutty. Aiming it at nothing is even nuttier. Plus, without the title, we have no idea that it's a basilisk. Throw a petrified soldier/creature/whatever in there and the creature type is a bit more set in stone (ba-dum-tss). Same with the girl. She looks to be dancing alone in a dark school hallways. I suppose she's primping in a mirror, but even that doesn't make much sense.
Anyway. Keep at it!
