Well, it's about time, really...I've sat by the wayside as others have begun their own self portrait missions and I really think I have enough inspiration bottled up inside of me to just let it loose and do some real work. Plus, I have some goals, and actually doing this sort of daily work will be great for me. Yep. I'm doing this at least for the entire month of December, I figure by the end it will just be habit and I'll keep going because it'll feel good.
Thanks for stopping by,

Neat control of values with your first, Waiting to see more of what you got.
Fitzin: Thanks my friend!! I think I pushed the values much more on this last one, so I'm pleased with that...I love rendering because I feel like I'm learning as I draw...it's just so different than my regular technique, I can feel the improvement. It's lovely.
I'm also exercising my digital abilities...I was trying to do a digital self portrait today in painter just using one brush...I feel like I'm getting closer with color accuracies, and I like the technique here...but my proportions and everything were so off...I didn't want to continue.

Uhm...yeah...couldn't update yesterday because my monitor broke! Cheap button interface on it...I had to take it apart and repair it but couldn't buy tools for it.
I tried to try for a dramatically different style yesterday...really push soft shading and rendering...but I really don't like it...so we'll try again and see what happens some other time, but today I went back to normal. I'm liking this much better...proportions are soooo much better. Yep.
Oooh my! Like the technique/painterly feel with that one. Keep exploring those tones!
Nice! Seeing your SPs kinda makes me realize i should use darker values.
30 minutes in painter...I should use color next, I think...terrifying thought.
Imaginary: And they're making me think I should use a broader spectrum of values! I think it's very easy to get narrow-minded and stay in one value range...it's a trap.
These are fantastic! I admire these very much, 120808 is really interesting.
Hey I'm back again and this time with a mechanical pencil...haven't picked up one of those in like...a year at least. I had lost a concept of what a consistent tip on your drawing utensil can do to your lines...I kind of dig it. I think I'm going to give it another shot in the future and push the rendering...any tips?
By the way, this is what I'd look like if my hair turned white and was luminescent...or if I just didn't want to render hair...another thing to conquer. Blah.
Man, looking awesome. That is so sick with the mechanical pencil one, a really nice result.
Alright...more of the rendering with the mechanical pencil...hmm...kind of is tedious...but I think it's improving slightly. I have a rogue eye...twisting on it's own there...ehhh...I think the tones are off on this...I want to do one of these as if it were a cast or a bust sculpture.
Here we go. Hey...they're starting to look more like me now...yay...number 22.
*Virus*: Why thank you! Yeah...pencils are my native tool when it comes to drawing, but I'm going to keep pushing the digital..like today! Grayscale study. Thanks again!
