    Ryan: Thanks yo!

Nickybeats: Thanks! Narrative's definitely what I'm going for .

    jNeumann: Thanks!

Here's the finished painting for the Dungeon Delve contest. The deadline was a while, but I completely blew it with what I submitted . I've fixed it up to put into my portfolio, this is much closer to what I'd initially imagined for the scene.

    I really love your figures/portraits!

You also make me wanna do more scenes. New goal now I should work on those anyways.

btw is this all digital? Or is this some traditional? hard to tell sometimes

My observational skills may be great but i said nothing about my drawing skills

    awesome stuff!

the composition on the dungeon delve piece is stunning, I really love that you resisted the temptation to fill the top half with anything. it creates a really nice oppressive atmosphere

You've really come a long way...and there's still so much more ahead! I'm a big fan of the ladies on the last page (at the very bottom). Mad props on those. It's nice to see you venturing into digital. Your work is looking solid. I, on the other hand, need to get into the traditional stuff more.

    Cheers!

Amazing progress, the figure work is outstanding. I'm actually taking Intro to Figure Painting at AAU this Spring, any pointers?

    Keep up the great work.

    hücumkedi: Thanks!

Ryan: Thanks! And shit, you are right. I must fix it!

    ddip_1710: Thanks!

jNeumann: Thanks! Crits are always a good thing.

My57: Thanks so much! Definitely work on scenes, I stopped doing them for a while when I was mostly doing fine art studies and it was REALLY hard to get back into it later. It exercises completely different brain muscles . Most of my stuff is traditional, I enjoy it way more. I've recently started doing more digital stuff again, hugely inspired by Cryptcrawlers vid.

    Ink-Orporate: Thanks!

NeonDuck: Thanks so much, I'm glad you like the composition! I was really nervous about it .

Parsakoira: YES! It's fun as hell and it makes the digital stuff go much more smoothly.

    MattGamer : Thanks man!

Mr.Pryminista: Thanks! Ladies always make for fun paintings .

Pierce9: Thanks! Guess that would depend on the teacher, but I guess based on what I (and many classmates) was struggling with this semester, I'll just say- don't go crazy with contrast. Hold back on the dark darks. Don't get too much white in the lights, leave room to build to the highlights. Do not put black in the shadows. And pay attention to color temperature. All of that's in service of avoiding muddy color- you have some leeway with it in still lifes, but it's the kiss of death for a figure. All the best with the class!

This is a quick one, maybe 3 hours in photoshop. There's a thread in "Art Discussion" going on and Kev Ferrara made a funny comment. This was born.

teapo: Thanks! It's a skill built with practice, just like digital (And actually easier), give it a shot!

I've gotten jack-all done in the last 3 weeks, been on vacation in India visiting family. Done some sketches and color studies though. Here are the latter. I won't tell you what they're for right now .

    Parsakoira: Thanks!

Nitish: Thanks, glad you like .

Here's the first of 5 paintings for the current POW challenge, along with closeups. I tried doing some of this one in Painter 11, but was only really able to get the background to look how I wanted in it, and even that took forever. Still not too happy with the program, taking a lot of getting used to. Photoshop is still my only (digital) love.

John Cotton looks great, it would be cool if you'd post it in the POW page. We'd have to bring our 'A' game for sure after seeing what you've done.

    Ryan: Haha, thanks.

    Pierce9: Thanks man!

CrookedHorn: Thanks! I stole a lot of the color off Harvey Dunn, the cool green areas were an eye opener for me too.

Parsakoira: Thanks! The midground blending into the back is intentional, it worked better than outright separation for this one I think.

2nd of 5 pieces for POW. Really cutting it close.

    EDIT: Posted a closeup.
