    Having fun with the skine.

    Abraham Lincoln stopping a meteor

The two wrestler characters from my Scholastic entry

^This one's pretty random (WIP). I reffed the planes from an aviation book I borrowed from the library.

    Hay man how you been?

Stuffs going real good in here dude, damn that moleskin's going to be awesome when it's all filled in. Hand studies and that still life (headphones) look great, heaps of detail!
The characters look cool too, and your line works improved heaps!

    Stay at it Bubba,

    cheers
    matt.

Great stuff. I love all your figure studies. Sometimes the feet don't quite work though, in there attachment to the body. Work on that!

JailHouseRock2: I've been good dude! Thanks for the stopping by. As for the linework, I can't deny that CA.org has really helped me with that. At this point last year my line work was embarassingly hairy!

Blythe: I guess I can't make any stylistic excuses because you work pretty stylized as well and your feet are fine. I'll definitely get to working at it.

the ANGRY filipino:Thanks man! I always appreciate your encouragement. In a few years, hopefully I'll be a little better than I am now!

AlexTooth: Thanks. Hands have always been my demise, so it's good to hear I'm making some progress.

Still lifes from the sketchbook. I'm doing a couple of self portraits soon so it's back to regular paper (at least for now).

Nice expressions on the self portraits! A nice difference from all those sulky looking self portraits most people do.

    Shalite: Thanks!

hunchback: Thanks. Moleskines are great. I hate sketchbooks with rings. It really limits what you can do within the pages.

the ANGRY filipino: Yeah, I'm not really a fan of sulky portraits. I always like to bring a twist or something a little bit different to my self p's.

JailHouseRock2: Thanks dude! My brain just goes on shutdown (think mental mush) when I'm doing still lifes. Mindless rendering is fun.

    Tortuga: Thanks.

hey dude your moleskine is amazing! keep up the good work.

i like the high contrast rendering you've got going on and congratulations on the Scholastic Gold Key. that's a high achievement for a high schooler.

HTML rulez d00d: Thanks. I'm glad and thankful I got a Gold Key. Hard work pays off!

lilnebo: Thanks. Looking back at my previous sketchbook (even before this one) I feel I've made a lot of improvement. It's only been about 9 months since I decided to take drawing seriously (studies, still lifes, etc). There's still a long way to go though.

Wow--lots of great stuff here. The headphones and hand studies are particularly strong. The sps are great, too, but they look a hair on the static side. Were they referenced from photos? As an exercise, you could try another sp (from a mirror if you weren't using one before) and force yourself to work on all areas of the drawing at the same time, building up values throughout simultaneously. That might make the whole thing a bit more vibrant and cohesive... Great work and looking forward to future updates!

Waiting to see if I got accepted/rejected to CSSA. In the meantime, I did some figure drawings from the innerspark website. Kinda pathetic, but I wanna go so bad.
