Wow your pencil graphic is totaly mad! You should connect it some how with the digital stuff, it looks not so rich as pencil. But any way great works, thanks for sharing and inspire!

Your pencil sketches are great theres a lot of confidence to the lines (especially on the warhammer ones...nothing says patience like chaos marines haha). Looking forward to the outcome of the Xenomorph piece. I know its a little late, but the piece might have a better sense of interaction if the alien was looking at the source of the light. He's a ruthless predator and having a feeling of tensity by the possibility of an impending attack would have been cool. Either way the Xeno looks sweet

    Mila: Thanks for stopping by!
n1frit: Thanks! Yeah I kinda get what you mean, my digital stuff is not that expressive. It is propably because I tend to overwork things and focusing in parts.
Ghast: Never too late my friend. Like I typed earlier, the white line is a suggestion for the direction of the jaw. Maybe it's just not clear enough but it's there for memory's sake.

Here's something. Guess who my hero is.
    Thanks for looking.

kingkostas: Yo! Thanks alot mate. It is time for a gear shift.
~KJK~: It's called a comfort zone for a reason! Thanks mate, much appreciated.

I'm going to show you guys some stuff now.
This is basically me relaxing and doing things on my free time as I'm dead busy (but rightly so!) with school stuff.

The devil chick. I have no idea where to go with this one.
Maybe give it some time and get back to it with fresh eyes.
Need to establish a stronger structure for the image, it lacks solidness.

I just noticed how the composition is very similar if not exactly the same in all the images.
I need to get that sorted aswell.

Taking this further. I like the dude's pose but the alien could look more aggressive.

Space jockey! Sweet. I like how you blurred out most of the image.

Your last piece could be more dynamic. I can't help but think the alien just turned around to look at someone calling it's name. Instead, I believe the alien should make itself really big to impose the person, or defend itself by bending it's body like a coil, ready to POUNCE! I hope you understand what I mean Keep up the good work.

    Love the space jockey.

In your alien encounter, where's the alien's tail at? I feel like that thing whipping about could give it a bit more dynamism.

Mila: I agree with the dynamism. The pose will need to have some rework.
Inkthyosaur: I'm still undecided with the tail, it could be a nice element to move the eye around. I'll see what I can do.

I took some time to view this on different monitors and it was way too dark. Lots of stuff to do.
    Thanks for looking.

    Aaah Kostas!
I got another good critique for the same piece and worked it out based on that. This is excellent information mate, thank you very much!
Here's how it looks like. I will consider the value overlapping in the next piece for sure.

I like the title of your sketchbook And your work is really cool! Awesome colours and rendering, suuper awesome. Although sharpness and texture would be a really sweet addition sometimes~ I also like your pencil stuff a lot. Hopefully you'll update soon, you're great and I'd love to see more!

As time passed by, I almost forgot our precious existence in the current
universe. Big cracks in the sky, mud filled underground waters, there
will be no bright future for the slow starters. I don’t know what’s happening
around your house, but I see that you are not so active here anymore, so
I only can guess that you are preparing some huge mastermind plan behind
the curtains, and that you are going to break through once again, as you
used to do that before. I am very satisfied with your latest alien piece,
I hope you’ve put that in your portfolio cause it’s really good, and
you’ve learnt mass of new things probably while under the process.
Thank you for that revealing explanation in my sketchbook on
the MMA girl, and taking the time to overpaint, you are a true
friend who is always willing to help. I will try to update something
pretty soon, I really miss this place and the old days. So if you
want, charge your batteries, and join the party, I’ll
see you on the other side if not somewhere sooner.

Muddy, Kostas, thanks for dropping by and giving some love.
LtPlissken: It is good to see you posting here. Yeah, I miss the old days all the people I've had the honour to struggle and learn with. But that can't be helped.
I've been busy with different things. Here's a fresh start.

kingkostas: Thanks for dropping by man. Yeah lighting is hard as hell, but when you get something right it feels so natural. Still gotta experiment like this though, haven't used phototextures in a while.

Here's a SP. I'll make a dump here sooner or later.

You were always good with those space kind SciFi robots and soldiers, like the
one in the post #712, great armor design, and the texture suits very well. The self
portrait is looking cool, a special blurry way to display your personality, no sharp
edges at all, very nice. If I understand you are preparing to share more of your
work in the near future, so I am eagerly awaiting for that occasion. Thank you
for the visit and for the sword overpaint in my sketchbook section, reminded
me the older times when we were much more active around this board.
Hope you are doing well, and that you’ll stay longer to help me improve
more, there is a lot awaiting us in the future, lot to learn and to evolve.

    Schoolwork. Character sheet and layouts.
It's a bit messy but it'll show where things need to be.

Wow. That was some update! It's good to see you stuff some fantasy pieces in here too. All good quality. I like your SPs esp.
Your cartoons, while they tell the story quite effectively, but idk, they seem a bit awkward in ... design? I'm not really sure how to put it, but things are slightly off. Mainly the forms. you know you can create the illusion of form, or "3D-ness" in linework, yes? Because I've seen you done it in your more realistic stuffs and your paintings doesn't seem to have those problems, in fact, i'm almost certain they will look better once you paint it over. but.. why is that? (honest question, not being rhetorical)

anyhow, it's good to see you're trying different stuffs.
    Keep it up, mate

I'm making mess here: Sketchbook .
    also on dA and blogspot

    You’ve improved tremendously. Period.
Proportions great, values great, fantastic characters, ideas and originality.
Every time you show up, massive improvements can be seen.
On the first three elvenmale and halflingmale paintings you did a fantastic
job, except one thing if you ask me, and that is that they are looking too dark.
From my experience (remember I am just self taught), the best looking paintings
(for me personally), are those where the whole value range is used, please correct
me if I’m wrong. From 100 percent white to 100 percent black, I mean those
are looking the most realistic for me. On your elven paintings I got a feeling that
you are using only like half of the whole equation, like from 100 percent black
to only 50 percent white/black, and you never touch the brighter whites. This
simple thing takes away a big deal from your paintings if you ask me.
On that halfingmaleIII I think that you did a better job, you used whites on
his eyes and face in much larger amounts, and that’s why that one looks
the most attractive from the three paintings.
On the systery_b c haracters you are drawing small heads (remember the 8 head rule),
otherwise I like the characters and the design.
Great clean lines on the last Styletest.
Well that is from me now, you know I make lot of mistakes, may
give you some wrong advices, but you are an intelligent person, and
I hope you will get the best out of every reply that you get here.
Till our next meeting be good, and keep on sharing your awesomeness.

witcrack: Thank you. I think what I lack is looseness in the cartoon stuff. I've found it's very difficult to try and develop something that both looks aesthetically pleasing and still is something you can redraw over and over again. So things tend to turn a bit flat and lifeless. I'll try and not repeat that in the actual animation process.
    mEgA fLeeCe RaIn: Cheers man.
LtPlissken: Thank you. The whole dynamism of the value range indeed can be used, but I don't think it's absolutely necessary to portray form effectively, it's all about light afterall. As regards to these portraits, I guess they could do with a bit more oomph like you suggest, I still have a tendency to dull things down when I'm working on stuff on and off for long periods of time. Thanks for the input.

Here's some creeps from my sketchbook. Thanks for looking.
