I've gotta try that shape exercise out, you make it look so easy! I'd probably beat my brains in for a while. Great shit as normal though, excellent work.

Thank god for an update! i was getting lonely. I like how you are using more detail environments it really plays off well with the characters emotions. I do think the background is a little flat on the ship and plane piece, (not enough colors maybe?) But then again i see your busy,i love seeing your progress, i hope to see more.

Austen, good to see you back to posting. I like those updates above, and there is an interesting theme coming through.

One crit for you would be to try and work on those 1 min figure studies. You tend to work with fairly short circular lines when you draw to try and build-up the figure. For those sorts of gestural studies it slightly defeats the purpose, even if you do get down the shape of the figure, because it removes the feeling of movement.

Just a small crit, but apart from that keep on sharing!

ThomasM -Thanks man, you're right about those gestures, unfortunately im not usually granted the luxury of 1 minute warm ups half the time i attend the life drawing class. Usually cause i show up late :B But yeah! I'll definitely be working on that, thanks for the input amigo!
SEVANS - Yup, its a great, and exciting exercise, give it a try!
    surus - Yo, Thanks!
Yor - Thanks, i like that one a lot too~
Wetterschneider - Right on, i'll keep my eye out for your random shapes, im excited to see them!
PieMonster - Its inspiring to hear that im inspiring o: Thanks my brother!
Jaesun-Alin - Slowly getting where i want to be, thanks man~
Sheep_Skin_Wolf - You're right! I'll try and play around with it more in photoshop, if i can make it pop better i'd really like that piece. Thanks for the crit!
Metal Fingers - The shapes are a bit confusing at first, but you'll usually find yourself in a groove once you fill a couple in. Good luck on 'em, you'll enjoy it for sure!
chuck18mp - Haha, i dunno about being the best update, but it sure is a big one! Here's another for ya, thanks man!
Gorgonzola - I always keep a diaper genie handy to keep my shit together ( http://ruggerjay.typepad.com/.a/6a00...d0b1970b-800wi ) heheh... thanks man!
Aresa - Thanks buddy! It's been a while since ive done this much colored work, glad you like it~

Hey people, small update this time. More class work as well as ongoing character exploration for a project im helping with. Thanks for lookin'!

Well I can tell you that inking or using markers in them is a bad idea. Stick to dry media for moleskines. Their pages don't take inks well.

ANYWAY! I still like dropping by this place now and again. Really digging the Conan-esque barbarian dude. I'm a chump for barbarian themed stuff so it's one of my favorites of yours.

Really cool style you got here. I like those shapes studies, I forgot how great they are to get your brain working at times to see things and generate ideas.

Art is not about competing against others and being better than everyone else, but it is about competing against yourself and discovering your greatest potential!

MrFrenik - Thanks a ton boss! I'm flattered you think so much of my work~
    congatre_hp - You a robot son? 1010100?
RobPowell - Thanks dude, i appreciate it! I love doing those shape exercises as well. People been spyin' on mine in class and its spread like wildfire. Hmm!
CLANLESS - Right on, thank you!
CKLamb - WILL FINISH REPLIES AFTER LUNCH, YUM!
spitboi7 - Thanks dude, i really need to do more life drawings. If you do manage to look through everything let me know what you think, right? Thanks again amigo!
Jaesun-Alin - Yo, glad you like him, ive got other 'incarnations' of him to draw as it were, different armor, etc. Thanks man.
chuck18mp - Hey chuck! Thanks for stopping by~ As for the moleskine, you already read what 'Jaesun' had to say on the subject and i want to echo him. I've only tried to use a moleskine once and ended up not liking it and abandoning the set. It cannot handle liquid media worth a damn, especially markers like prismas, they just bleed through multiple pages with little effort. That being said they're wonderful for pencils and i havent had trouble inking in them as long as its with disposable media like a felt tip or ballpoint. Dip pen with ink and nib tends to tear into the pages causing a mess. hope this is of some use!
    wreck - Yo, thanks!
TFsean - Gracias amigo, i appreciate it!
NickyBeats - hope to see those finished shapes scanned soon!

Hey guys. The day after school let out for the quarter my computer corrupted and I lost a lot of stuff. Here are some things i was working on at the time that i'll need to recover via scanning and editing. In the mean time heres what i managed to upload to my friends. More character exploration for their tabletop project. I probably wont be posting much more from this as things get more finalized. Ive got a lot in the works though! So stay tuned~
