    Working on some more characters.
I think I have enough character wip's for the moment, so now I should work on finishing them for my portfolio.

Amazing style man, very soft, I really like how you handle everything with pretty much 1 brush. I'm trying to achieve that as well. Keep rockin.

hey dude, thanks for your comment in my SB. Your SB is just top notch! Look, are you applying for game art on the HKU? Well, to be honest, if you want to get better technical wise, it's not the education for you. You'll just have to progress on your own. Well, that was true for me. I hear they now got some actual teachers from out of the field.

But, you can learn a lot about how to work in a team, and what your role is in the process. Your learn how to create fitting artwork for a game. As you are already technically proficient, this education will actually help you to become a better visual designer. So yeah that's it. My biggest advice to you is; Keep an open mind during the education, as it will push you out of your comfort zone once in a while. That's all Cheers mate!

Tom van der Linden - Thank you very much for the fast reply!
Yes, I'm applying for game art. I was aware of the technical aspect, it seems to be a trend here in the Netherlands. But I actually kind of prefer it that way.
Lois van Baarle said something similar to me a few years back when I asked her about the animation program.

I like the idea of working with a team of artists and game developers, since I haven't really experienced that before. I'm just hoping to get accepted in the program.
Thanks again for your comment and advice, I really appreciate it!

Hey, no problem. That is a great attitude you have there True, it helped me too to experience working in a team.

Next to that, I think you have a great understanding of female anatomy, and this is not a major complaint for obvious reasons haha, but I would like to see some more variety Cheers!

Also, one of the biggest things I've learned on the HKU is the importance of the concept. You can be as technical as you'd like to be, but if you can't communicate an idea or concept, it's pointless. I think you'll be accepted with your high standard of work, but I'm really interested on how you will react to working in a team, as it most often means you can't just do your own thing. Cheers buddy, maybe we should meet up and sketch sometimes!

Went with a more direct coloring method with this one, since color layers alone aren't doing it for me.

Let's see how far I can get with the female version today.

GoblinEgg - Thank you , keep browsing around, there are many better artists on here.

Tom van der Linden - I'll work on the variety, I started to draw more males, but my portfolio is still lacking diversity.
Don't know if I'll have time to work on it before the deadline though. Thanks!

My first falconry character sketch was inspired by the Mongolian wrestling costumes, I wanted to explore that theme some more.

your understanding of anatomy s going well! Keep up! you've also got some nice color choice! I would try to vary the angle of view on your character, this might help you understand the 3d of a human body! Keep on going, I love you clothes desing and your character sheet, your on the good way!

damn, i realy like your studies at the top of the page, really great, it's showing a great mastery of the values and edges !! now for your characters, i find them generally too simple. i find you're not enough thinking of their story, and telling their stories through details of clothings/accessories ! also, your silhouette is a bit simple, if we take it, it looks like a simple human silhouete most of the time, try to make it appealing, using abstract shapes. i don't have any stuff for silhouette and character design but i promise i'll take a look and will send you some links ! keep it up !!

kikindaface - Thanks for the feedback! I haven't worked on my silhouettes in years it seems, I've forgotten how important it can be!
Your spot on about the lack of story, except for the Mongolian characters, most of the recent stuff are pretty generic.
I'm working on some character stories but for the moment they'll have to wait.
Thanks for taking the time to search for the link, I appreciate it!

Fetsch - Thanks man! Forcing myself to finish seems to have helped.

Her face was really bothering me, I spend some time trying to fix it but to no avail.
I searched for some reference and worked on it some more, hopefully it looks better now.

Hey great designs! Uhm the one thing I noticed, is that a lot of your characters come out short, I think it's because they're heads are slightly large, but I mean that's I minor fix. Keep up the hard work, you're getting better with each piece.
