My sketches and stuff--new stuff 2/23/10

    Hello.

I've browsed through this site but this is my first time actually making any type of post.

I'll be posting some of my stuff here. Hopefully I'll be getting some good constructive criticisms to help me get better.

Please scroll to the bottom to see my most recent work.

This was done in September. Made with paper. Finally got it photographed today. the tail of the fish is supposed to make an abstract "S" shape....

The cat is my absolute favourite, he looks so menacing yet cute. Portraits are nice, are any of them from life?

thanks. the charcoal portrait next to the hookah is from real life, along with the hookah and the 3 figure drawings/paintings above it

Just had a critique on this today in class. lots of things i could correct and make better. Done in photoshop, which i don't have a lot of experience in yet.

silhouette project for digital illustration class. done back in december. the assignment was to illustrate a discovery scene through a silhouette created in illustrator. it was my first time using illustrator. i'm still trying to get use to it.

I really like the silhouette! I think it's very good you did not try to detail too much. The only thing that looks odd to me is that tree on the right, the branch in the upper corner. But I very much like the middle part of the picture

iphigen: yeah, the tree is a little strange. i thought about fixing it, but decided that it's better to just move on and do more drawings instead. thanks for the comment

Chompo: thanks. i realized that scratchboard is really good drawing fur, but i have to say i'm not a huge fan of scratchboard.
