wow your brush style just got wayyy more harmony through the whole image in the last several posts...sometimes people overuse a specific brush or throw too much detail without it feeling natural, but the landscapes of recent are workin so well. You really picked some amazing cloud studies as well.
Its not a big deal, but I think you could size down some of the images (thinking of portraits) as they don't need to be larger than my giant resolution can handle
absolutely love the last portrait, man with white hat. I would say the beard feels slightly cloudy to keep up with the realism in the rest of the piece. It really is an amazing piece - must have loved the photo the minute you saw it?
Excellent sketchbook! I am new here and I went through the whole sketchbook to come to the final post, so I've had a creative overload. this sketchbook is a great kaleidoscope of images. I will be coming back for more though.
Great studies!! Some things i picked up while reading Andrew loomis Creative illustrations: Shadow makes the form and color appears most vibrant near the areas of light. When as in shadow - color loses its brilliancy. Also Pure blacks seldom appear in nature. Hope you get something out of those brief annotations, But really great Studies, Keep it up
your still lifes are so cool! Keep pushing those portraits, you're definately getting there! For example, your first and last portraits in the last post have some minor glitches I can't even pinpoint, but your Sargent in #287 and the little girl in #289 are astonishing!!! You definately have it down, it's just a matter of consistency.
