Great studies!! Some things i picked up while reading Andrew loomis Creative illustrations: Shadow makes the form and color appears most vibrant near the areas of light. When as in shadow - color loses its brilliancy. Also Pure blacks seldom appear in nature. Hope you get something out of those brief annotations, But really great Studies, Keep it up
wow! amazing stuff!!!
your still lifes are so cool! Keep pushing those portraits, you're definately getting there! For example, your first and last portraits in the last post have some minor glitches I can't even pinpoint, but your Sargent in #287 and the little girl in #289 are astonishing!!! You definately have it down, it's just a matter of consistency.
Cooooooool geyou and zhangziyi
It all look really great, specially Clint Eastwood and the still life studies from post #301. Alwas a real pleasure visiting your SB
O man you improved soooooo much! its really awsome to see
looking forward to seeing what you have in store for us
have a good one keep burning those wacom nibs
till next time
sketchbook updated October 6th
life studies are rock solid, nothing much to crit there
For portraits, sometimes they seem a little bit off (at least for me). Maybe try to get the measurements right in the sketch before detailing too much. But can be just me, haven't drawn some asian people in a long time.
What I really like about the portraits is the color palette. Great mood in every one of them.
Keep it up!
Beautiful, love how you use colors
Oh, I really love the picture of Noble with fake gold pointing finger Great story and design.
as for your last "rainbow" picture, the similar opal-like eyes lips could look great also on "normal" paintings, but what was Your intend here?
Awesome as ever, particularly like the eyes on post 318!
Really cool update. Your colors and textures are so good. I especially like that second one.
