    ryanoir: Thanks
    FraserMcT: That's the plan Thanks!
kyubisharingan: I basically make a canvas the same size as the image I'm painting from, with a higher resolution. Get them both lined up next to each other so I know I'm scaling right. Then I'll draw the image in line real quick, trying to get the proportions and everything as accurate as I can. Then I turn the line layer into multiply and a open a layer underneath and start guessing colours. I tend to to put quick marks down on my photo of the colour I'm trying to get until its right. Just keep in mind that you're not looking for the exact hue, saturation, or value, but the one it appears as to you. In photos, one colour is represented by lots of pixels all containing different colours, so its really just about how it looks. This is why colour picking isn't always that accurate. Hope this helps, and don't get hung about making mistakes, photo studies are very hard

Excellent updates. You've mastered shading with pencils as far as I'm concerned, very impressive work.

The recent work in your sketchbook is very enjoyable. I really like the fact that you're doing a lot more imagination work. That sketch for the painting looks great, looking forward to the final result.

When you're shading with a pencil just watch out that not everything in one shape is in midtone, try and start out with only shading in light, leaving highlights blank, go over it with a midtone and then add shadows to the form. I think it'll make the stuff you're rendering pop a lot more and work out much better.

Keep it up as per usual

Hey! you've got a great sketchbook here and you made some awesome improvement since your first SB pages.
I especially like your painted work - it is a great inspiration for me to keep up with my own art stuff.

One thing thought that i wanted to comment on is your style, you can listen to my words or not- those are only some of my thoughts.
I've been on these boards for few years (sometimes not as active as i wished though) and seen some truly great artists start here and keep they work till they got to a pro level with the ability to make some change in art.
Intentionally or not but i can see a lot of influence from these artists in your work, it's not a bad thing but i really think that with your talent you could've make something different and great in your own way with your own style.
I know it's easy to say- develop your own style, and not so easy to achieve, but i really think that it would do great for your art.
Anyway like i said at the top of my post, i really like your art (i even bookmarked your thread) but these are my 2 cents.

    Keep up the great work!

    Alex.

I can't say that i agree with that quote....not all the masters of the past imitated the works of their predecessors.
However like i said i still like your art, and it's your choice to choose your path in it.
Keep up the great work and keep up with those studies!

    i loved that quote
your drawings are getting so cool, i love your ink stuff, bleach is awesome looking!
though, try to do some real dynamic things, your stuffs looking a bit bland, try studying some frazetta, wizards of the coast guys and anything dynamic looking and apply it to your own work
    keep going son
