Thank God for the update! I've been refreshing these forever! LoL I really wish I could have seen your senior show in person too. Awesome work, man. I love how you're not afraid to use dark tones to pop out other parts of the image. Truely inspiring. I appreciate the work you do. It keeps my hands up in the air, reaching for the next rung on then ladder. Some of the great talent here just keeps the rest of us pluggin' away at our sketchbooks and you're one of those that keeps me going. Thanks a lot.

I wanted to ask you a question if it's cool with you. I've been in a community college for a couple years studying fine arts and a bit of graphic design. I'm hoping to get entrance into a school here in STL and I'm workin' on a portfolio to send their way. I know a lot of people say you shouldn't send in stuff drawn from your head or fantasy type stuff. Was that true of your portfolio? Do you recall what you sent in? I don't really mess with a great deal of media so I don't have a lot of variety there either. Just curious how your entrance was. Thanks in advance and keep up the great work.

    Wow!!!!!

Great work wes, really stunning stuff. The drawings from your head are equally as impressive as the work from refs, awesome skill. What would you say was the most important thing in order to develop that kinda ability with anatomy?

    Incredible stunning stuff.

I was wondering if there's an artist that inspired you to get into this kind of thing?

zebzfree- my entry portfolio to art school was pretty much all work done from life. figure drawings and paintings, still lifes, landscapes, self portraits, and some sketchbook pages... lots of different mediums and variety... oils, charcoal, acrylics, pencil, pastel, watercolor... usually thats the kind of stuff schools want to see as far as scholarship competetion goes

scanned in some new stuff tonight...

all out of my head.. not the best scan...lots of the graphite is too shiny and built up to scan right
    = february 25 = (big update)

all out of my head. worked on this a bit during the little cleveland art meet when i was hanging out with davi, aveh, and majestyx. good times. shitty scan though, theres alot of graphite on the page and it reflects from the scanner a bit
    = february 25 = (big update)

quick sketch out of my head.
    = february 25 = (big update)

another fairly quick one out of my head
    = february 25 = (big update)

    more quick stuff
    = february 25 = (big update)

out of my head. pretty happy with parts of this one...might work on it a little bit more
    = february 25 = (big update)

done from life... an hour or so
    = february 25 = (big update)

heheh and this last one i was channeling marko into my drawing...hehe theres even a random marko-ish looking face that evolved while drawing this page

Great stuff as usual, but I really LOVE the last one...loose and tight here and there. And yes, I can see Marko's...still with the Wes9000 touch which make it even more stunning. You are one hell of a perfectionist!

wow, first and second images are fantastic, I like the last one a lot, too. I don't have any crits..only advice is keep doing what you're doing cause it works! I love the way the patterns and shadows shift from postive to negative between figures.
